We are delighted to announce that Christopher and the Full-Steam-Ahead team will be returning to the Swanage Railway for their Autumn Steam Gala in September. We will be at Harmans Cross Station 'Down platform' for a special launch event of the much anticipated George & Wilbert Awdry's wonderful collaboration of 'The Canadian Wonderland Tour 1980'. This book is a must for railway enthusiasts and fans of the Awdry family alike. Detailing the journey the Awdry brothers took, travelling across Canada in 1980. The book will go on worldwide sale on September 14th, but you can buy an exclusive advanced copy only at this event on September 12th between 10:30 - 14:00. Don't forget the best way to get to Harmans Cross Station will be via travelling on their trains which will be hauled by a fantastic roster of steam locomotives including world famous A1 Class 'Tornado'. This engine is not shy of publicity having been seen previously on Top Gear and in the heart warming film Paddington. Tickets for the Autumn Steam Gala will be available soon. A preview page was shown at the event yesterday - the new book is word-for-word what was in Wilbert and George's original typewritten manuscript, and every photo is placed just where the brothers planned them to be. It's full of classic Awdry humour and railway anecdotes!

Hi everyone. We've just got Christopher back home now who wants us to again thank all those involved for making last night a truly epic night. Thank you for braving the heat, and for making the journey. Unfortunately due to temperatures within the hall we had a few technical glitches that meant not everything was seen or heard by those attending the event. One of my favorite things about the RWS is that the engines can’t conceive of a life not based around the railway. They see “S. C. Ruffey” and say “Scruffey.” Edward thinks it strange how nobody has room for a traction engine. They’re all silly goobers and that’s why we love them
