It’s so beautiful to see good people raise amazing kids. Your daughters inherited and learned your kindness. I feel really grateful to have crossed paths with such amazing people on this platform. I’ve lost a lot due to my own foolishness in trading, but gaining the presence of such wonderful people still feels like I have gained so much more.

A simple habit that will improve your day. Immediately. Say 5 things OUT LOUD that you're grateful for. Here's mine from this morning: 1. Thankful I am not in a hospital bed. 2. Thankful for the diligent home inspector I was referred to. He took over 900 photos! He spent 5 hrs inspecting every square inch. 3. Thankful for the tender heart of my daughter Anna who sent me the sweetest photo yesterday. ❤️ 4. Thankful for God's providence. 5. Thankful for the fund-raiser my daughter Abigail is leading today to purchase mattresses for poor children at an orphanage in Sierra Leone, Africa. She put an immense amount of time into this!

This past week a paid Substack subscriber wrote to me from Taiwan. He said something that made me fall to my knees & give thanks to God. Thank you!” I grew up dirt poor on a farm, there were times the house was so cold we shivered because my parents couldn’t afford the oil delivery. I don’t forget these things. Before I die all that I’ve earned will be given away. I don’t need or want icons of stone & wood. When my heart stops beating I will face Almighty God. He will see every act, both good & bad. I yearn to hear Him say just SIX words: “Well done good and faithful servant”. If I don’t hear those words from my Creator then I failed the true test of life.

It’s crazy how trading makes me feel like I’ll miss out if I’m not constantly in a trade. But the truth is, overtrading is exactly what blew up my accounts. Now I’m trying hard to just wait for the right setup, and I’ve noticed something interesting—the less I trade, the more I make. Sitting back and waiting is the hardest part, but that’s where the real money seems to be.

I used to trade 8 times or more per day. Consistency was pathetic. Then I read a study about over-trading. The data was compelling. Now, it’s about 3x a week, & sometimes 2-3 weeks of NO trading & my consistency took off. I’m 11.4% YTD with about 13 trades since Jan 1. The market doesn’t offer high probability setups on a daily basis. Not even close.

Warren Buffet makes 5-10 trades a year. You make 5-10 trades a day. This is why you're poor.
