The former DID Electrical on Mountjoy Square, a local institution, is for sale. Behind the famous gawky porch tacked over the original doorcase and fanlight is a fine three-bay Georgian house which, given the vicissitudes of its history, retains remarkably intact interiors 🧵

Third time in a row the S2 has been mysteriously cancelled only minutes away from my stop. No faith in this service anymore @dublinbusnews @TFIupdates

🇮🇪 A Map of Dublin, with the locations of all 22 Dublin clubs that at one point played in the League of Ireland but no longer do. The League of Ireland was founded by only Dublin based clubs. Six of the eight clubs are no longer competing in the League of Ireland.Dublin United, Frankfort, Jacobs, Olympia, St James's Gate, and YMCA have all dropped out since the inaugural season back in 1921-22. The League of Ireland title was won on 8 occasions by these former Dublin clubs, but only three did it. They were Drumcondra AFC, 5 times, St James Gate, twice, and Dolphins on one occasion. The FAI Cup was won by these clubs on 10 occasions, Drumcondra (5), St James's Gate (2), Transport (1) Home Farm (1), and Sporting Fingal (1) A high concentration of clubs came from the South Inner City, mainly early League of Ireland Clubs, with only 8 North Dublin clubs on the list. Cabinteely is the latest club to have dropped out in 2020 after they merged with Wicklow club, Bray Wanderers. Here is a thread with a little bit about each of the 22 clubs.

Dublin Shitty Council. Ruining views and vistas since time immemorial. For a city starved of trees, we do love to plant the few ones we have in some of the worst places.

The 2000-tastic, neon clad, and unfinished Conference Centre again. Surely we can do better. Custom House, City Hall, even O'Connell Street?

This fine block of shop houses was designed in the 1820s under Dublin's Wide Streets Commission to act as a foil to the adjacent Four Courts. Grander plans for the site by architect Patrick Byrne gave way to this standard Dublin formula of brick facades with granite dressings.
