Sing along with the band before the game. It genuinely sounds decent when it gets going like before the Arsenal match #SaintsFC

If you have a midfield of Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp, you deserve to be relegated.

There’s a lot of credit to be dished out to just about everyone tonight. Club smashed pre-match build, staff set up cleverly, players gave everything required and fans stuck with it after equaliser. Not a very analytical post, but it’s hard to think past the emotion. #SaintsFC

Happy 42nd birthday to Papa Waigo 🎉 The Senegalese striker scored five goals for Southampton during his loan spell from Fiorentina, including this strike in the club’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory #saintsfc

@willis_macp @Tom_Morgs Never mind staying in the job, has anyone ever asked how Key managed to go from being a TV commentator to Englands MD in the first place?

@SouthamptonFC A small transfer fee for a player probably not on massive wages. One of the few defenders we have with the potential to improve. Seems like a strange decision which I think we will end up regretting. Time will tell.

We can confirm that Ronnie Edwards has completed a permanent transfer to QPR. All the best for the future, Ronnie 🤝

@AlfieHouseEcho I think this will turn out to be a mistake. Ok he hasnt been brilliant (who has?!?!?) but he still has the potential to improve - unlike some of the others.

Told this is likely. It’s a bit of a strange one, can understand why all parties would go for it but I’d probably rather keep him for another season in the Championship. No doubt he’ll hit the ground running at QPR, which he hasn’t done at Saints. At least it’s profit. #SaintsFC

Don’t quote me on this but I think the game only stops if the ball hits the referee. If a player runs into him then it’s tough shit. #saintsfc

@liamtribb I dont expect one that saves everything. I just think we need a better one. A much better one. If we had one then the defence would be a lot less jittery

@SteveGrant1983 @willis_macp Ive still never really understood how Key went from talking shite in “the pod” watching kent vs essex in the T20 to suddenly being in charge of the england team? How and why did that happen?

The individual doing post-play press duties is normally a decent tell as to how a team is going. This week, for England, David Saker spoke on day 1, and Marcus Trescothick on day 2.

The boos continue as Steve Smith walks out to bat. But is this still justified? How long will it go on? It feels like only the English crowd persists with this kind of reception, while most other cricket fans around the world moved on long ago.

HT: Saints 3-0 Leicester City. Ridiculous stuff again tonight. Some of the most enjoyable football I've ever watched, Saints or otherwise. Harwood-Bellis brace, Azaz on fire and Manning a real asset. Against 10 men for a whole half still to come, we want some more. #SaintsFC

That’s not to say he won’t land the role permanently. I personally think he will get the gig, (unless someone really stands out) especially if he remain in charge and then beats Charlton after the break.

@AlfieHouseEcho You can only have an interim boss for so long before the players can use it as an excuse for bad performances. Also, dont overlook the standard of opposition in the 2 wins - QPR very up and down and sheff weds in a right mess. Get on with it and dont waste time we dont have

Probably agree with George here. It’s a tricky one because you don’t want to under-sell Tonda Eckert’s potential but we’ve seen the risks of appointing interims before. No need to rush, happy to let it run for a bit longer if there’s no standout candidate elsewhere. #SaintsFC
George Rees-Julian@rees_julian

Saints are in good hands with Tonda Eckert as interim boss, so do they need to rush into a permanent appointment? My thoughts on the managerial situation here. How do you feel about it after back-to-back wins? 👇 #SaintsFC dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25607624…
