RXO earnings are out. Lots of momentum, setting up for a much stronger year, increasing outlook. Driven by increased spot activity, which is very different than what DAT is reporting on spot load posting volumes. It suggests that RXO is gaining market share on spot opportunities (which have much higher margins in an upcycle) than the broader market. Makes sense, RXO relies far more on their own carrier network than other brokers which spray and pray post on loadboards. Large shippers have increased diligence on brokers to ensure that providers are financially viable and have proper security and compliance screening for motor carriers. RXO being public and having a large internal network offers massive advantage over smaller players. Margin per load increasing - which is hard to do in a market like the current one. (Buy rates "spot" increasing much faster than "contract"). Feels like RXO is setting up for a nice breakout in earnings in 2H.
