Many transfer portal kids got bad advice & likely won't play again. Lesson for those on full ride scholarships grass isn't greener. Or you'll be posting practice clips on here for a yr, telling schools “hit my DM I'm ready!"

Kids aren’t “injury-prone.” They shouldn’t be getting arm surgery at 13–17 years old. Parents, coaches, showcases, year-round baseball, overuse and the velocity cult are burning arms. Everyone wants radar-gun clout — nobody wants to own the damage.

@JoshStraughan1 You can see that the players are used to a culture of sitting back and waiting to be courted. At least for most folks., that’s not gonna work. Those that are proactive are the ones that are going to develop the relationships which are the ones that are gonna get the offers.

5000+ kids are in the transfer portal. The system isn't broken, it's shattered. This isn't what college athletics were designed to be. Coaches (not all) aren't loyal to players and players (not all) aren't loyal to coaches or schools. It has to change.

@CoachSwit Don’t get me started on this one. The whole set up is off. It makes eighth graders feel like they are college commits and doesn’t keep them hungry to continue to develop because it makes them feel like they’ve already arrived.

A lot of travel teams sell kids the “D1” dream at 13–14. A year later it’s “reclass” and “go national.” Now the kid looks better because he’s older — not better. By 17–18 the D1 never comes… but the org already cashed in. THOUGHTS ON THIS?

Here are some NCAA Transfer Portal statistics: Only 30% of Division II student-athletes who enter the portal find a new program. Of that 30%, just 33% move up to the Division I level, while 60% remain in Division II. These figures apply to first-time transfers only. Allowing unlimited transfers without restrictions hinders many student-athletes and makes timely graduation far more difficult. The one-time transfer exception often referenced was once the standard rule, and it worked effectively. Coaches at every level, particularly in certain sports, are already experiencing significant burnout due to annual roster turnover. We must regain control of this issue and begin pushing back. While we have adapted - and will continue to adapt - to the "new normal," we risk losing sight of the true value of an education and a degree. College is not a four-year decision - it is a forty-year decision.

Dear Prospective Student Athlete, It’s 1 a.m. and I’m scrolling through hundreds of DMs. Same goals. Same dreams. Same requests. So I’ll ask the question that actually matters, what makes you different? Everybody wants what you want. Very few are willing to do what it takes to separate themselves when there’s no spotlight, no instant response, and no guarantees. The difference isn’t talent. It’s attention to detail, consistency, and how you carry yourself when nobody is watching. It’s how you prepare, how you communicate, and how you respond when things get quiet. Wanting it is common. Commitment is rare
