Deeply saddened by the killing of @RedCrossLebanon paramedic Youssef Assaf, who lost his life while saving others. Humanitarian & medical personnel must be respected & protected at all times under Int'l Humanitarian Law. Those risking their lives to save lives are #NotATarget.

The IFRC condemns the killing of Lebanese Red Cross volunteer paramedic Youssef Assaf, who succumbed to the injuries he sustained while carrying out his humanitarian duty to assist and save lives. The @IFRC reiterates its call that ambulance personnel, medical staff, and Lebanese Red Cross @RedCrossLebanon staff and volunteers must be respected and protected at all times.
