@EROChicago arrested Minh Tieu, a criminal illegal alien from Vietnam convicted of murder and sentenced to 45 years in prison. After serving over 25 years, Tieu refused to comply with Alternatives to Detention conditions and was tracked via his ankle monitor in Fort Wayne, IN.

This week, #FBI Milwaukee assisted @ICEgov, @EROChicago, along with @CBP, @DEACHICAGODiv in the apprehension of an international fugitive. The subject is a 37-year-old male citizen of India with a foreign warrant from India on charges of rape, cheating, fraud, outraging the modesty of a woman, and abetment to suicide. The subject was originally admitted to the United States on August 15, 2024, for a temporary period not to exceed February 14, 2025, on a B2 Visa, which is a non-immigrant visa allowing a visitor to temporarily travel for pleasure. Jose Sanchez-Torres, 48, is a citizen of Mexico arrested by @EROChicago as part of a joint federal law enforcement action. Sanchez, ordered removed from the U.S. in 2004, was convicted in WI of domestic violence, driving without a license, and exposing himself to a child.

ICE @EROChicago arrested Antonio Rosales-Rodriguez, 53, a citizen of Mexico with a criminal history in IL of arrests or convictions for domestic violence, theft, DUI, and criminal transmission HIV. Rosales was removed to his home country July 9 as ordered by an immigration judge.

ICE @EROChicago officers working in KY arrested Dongei Sailas, 33, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia. Sailas has been convicted by the Warren County District Court of DUI (3), as well as criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, and driving with a suspended license.

A man wanted on multiple felony charges in Indiana was taken into custody Wednesday in North Carolina. Marvin Jose Vasquez-Martinez, 19, a Honduran national unlawfully present in the United States, was arrested by agents with FBI Charlotte, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Charlotte, U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Charlotte, and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest was made in coordination with FBI Indianapolis, which utilized technical surveillance methods to assist in locating the fugitive. Vasquez-Martinez was wanted in Hendricks County, Indiana, on felony charges of rape and child molestation. He fled the Brownsburg area in or around May 2025. His criminal history includes previous arrests for auto theft, resisting law enforcement, and possession of marijuana. Vasquez-Martinez is currently being held in North Carolina pending extradition to Indiana.

Rolando Polito-Malaga, 33, is a citizen of Mexico arrested by @EROChicago. Polito has been arrested by local authorities in IL for DUI, with a previous removal from the U.S. in 2019.

FBI Indianapolis, working in coordination with @ICEgov, arrested 26-year-old Alexis Otoniel Hernandez-Araujo Thursday morning in Indianapolis. Hernandez-Araujo, a citizen of El Salvador unlawfully present in the United States, was wanted on charges of reckless homicide and multiple related offenses. According to court documents, on July 6, 2024, Hernandez-Araujo was allegedly driving under the influence at a high rate of speed in the 1200 block of Reisner Street when he struck another vehicle driven by a pregnant woman. His 19-year-old brother, a passenger in Hernandez-Araujo’s vehicle, was ejected from the car and died at the scene. A 5-year-old child in the other vehicle sustained critical injuries, including a skull fracture and broken hip. A 14-year-old passenger and the female driver were also seriously injured. At the time of the crash, Hernandez-Araujo’s blood alcohol content was reportedly over the legal limit of 0.08. The FBI and ICE/ERO will continue to work closely with local, state, and federal partners to ensure violent offenders are held accountable and brought to justice.

FAST FACT Immigration detainers let ICE arrest criminal aliens in safe, controlled environments. When a local jail or prison honors a detainer, removable aliens go from local custody to federal custody — with no chance to harm the public.

ICE simply detains illegal aliens to remove them. We don’t detain punitively. We deport illegal aliens as quickly as possible when they have final orders of removal.
