@benbbaldwin Rookie deals should come with massive incentive layers. The issue isn’t that RBs should make more money, it’s that RBs should make money sooner when they’re producing top 10 league-wide numbers

Running backs are being paid commensurate with their impact on what teams care about: winning games. There's no change to the league pay structure, draft, etc that would change the fact that RBs just aren't very valuable. This is what the conversation needs to grapple with
Timo Riske@PFF_Moo

I mean it's not that the cap, the franchise tag and the rookie wage scale are constructs to specifically destroy RB pay. It's just that NFL teams don't value RBs highly right now. That wouldn't change in a free market situation.

@HaydenWinks Designate point multipliers to each player drafted in each round of the draft. Exponentially increasing. Late round gems win 1st round: 1.0 2nd round: 1.05 3rd round: 1.1 4th: 1.15 5th: 1.2 6th: 1.3 7th: 1.4 8th: 1.5 9th: 1.6 10th: 1.75 11th: 1.9 12th: 2.0 … … 18th: 3.0

With the $1M Puppy closed, shill me a contest type or payout structure you'd like to see on UD? Bonus points for something we've never done before.

How many guys have a legitimate claim to be the best quarterback in the history of two franchises? Is it just Brady and Kurt Warner? Only two I can think of.

@SethWalder So one part I’d be curious your thoughts on. Brian writes that the second-mover advantage is counterbalanced by the 1st team getting the first sudden death possession But if the optimal strategy is as above (1st team kicks, 2nd team goes for 2), then there is never a 3rd round

It's sub-50% on average but also, it's asymmetric. If you kick and they score the game will come to their 2-point play (50/50). If you go for 2 and fail, you lose. If you go for 2 and convert, they will go for 2 and some of that time convert and some of that time you'll lose.
Michael Zingone@FFzinger

@SethWalder If the %s on 2pt conversions are > 50% (which I think they are, slightly), then shouldn’t 1st possession team go for 2 given that 2nd team would if they kicked PAT

@SethWalder Interesting, wouldn’t the edge of knowing if you have to go for it on 4th be enough to drive it net positive?

Yes, the 2-point strategy for the new OT is pretty clear cut. First possession: Kick PAT. Second possession: Go for 2.
Wolverine@Doc__Love

@SethWalder So u should always kick the PAT when u score 1st in OT?
