I've rarely been so ashamed my country. France has just officially reversed its earlier decision to apply the ICC arrest warrant on Netanyahu 👇 All based on a completely bullshit excuse that "States not party to the ICC" have "immunities". Which is pure hypocrisy: Russia isn't party to the ICC either and they've never even raised this point after the arrest warrant on Putin. In fact France, whilst cynically writing in their press release that they'll "fully cooperate with the ICC", actually directly violate the court's judgement by doing this given that the court explicitly noted that "the acceptance by Israel of the Court's jurisdiction is not required" since the ICC can exercise jurisdiction based on Palestine's territorial jurisdiction. This rejection of Israel's jurisdictional challenges means that any immunity claims are invalid. And the worst part is of course the flip-flopping: I'd legit have had more respect for my country if they'd said this straight away instead of first doing the right thing and then reversing their position. Because it's plainly obvious that's because they were pressured into it and they caved like cowards, making a mockery of France's dignity (and international law) in the process.

As part of its war on international law – the safeguards put in place to stop a repeat of the Nazi Holocaust – Israel is trying to dismantle the ICC war crimes court and the UN refugee agency UNRWA. But behind the scenes, it's doing more. It has also denied the Red Cross any right since October 7 2023 to visit Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons. Those prisoners are effectively hostages – many held without trial or charge – that human rights bodies and the Israeli media warn are being systematically tortured and raped. The Red Cross would confirm those abuses were it allowed to visit. Now news emerges that Israel is preparing with US backing to stop Red Cross visits to Palestinian detainees permanently. Instead a retired Israeli judge would visit along with two foreign observers (presumably US officials). That is the same Israeli legal system that has done nothing significant to stop the torture and rape of Palestinian prisoners, not just since October 7 2023 but for decades before that.

To charge my phone, I have to walk miles to find electricity for both my phone and power bank. After filming, I need to find specific areas to upload my footage where I can get a good signal. With very limited transportation options, I also have to find a way to reach bombed locations, whether by car, ambulance, or even running. At the end of the day, I often find myself starving, with my stomach growling. To keep moving, I need to find food. I scout the market for hours to find canned goods (if I’m lucky) and ingredients, but I’m unable to cook them. Most days, I just eat bread to sustain my energy. The most complicated part is finding a place to sleep. Ever since the IDF put a hit list on me, I’m careful about where I sleep to avoid endangering those around me. Every day, I move from one location to another, finding any empty spot I can as my bed for the night. Every report you see reflects my blood, sweat, and dedication to bringing you this content. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is beyond catastrophic. Winter has arrived, affecting a devastated population left homeless, ill, wounded, malnourished, and heavily traumatized. How have 2.3 million people - half of them children - slipped out of the int'l community's concern?? The UNSC must urgently act to halt the genocide in Gaza. If political obstacles like the US veto persist, it's about time for the General Assembly to advance the Uniting for Peace resolution.
