It is an honor to present this resolution to @FLHSMV FHP Trooper of the Year Steven Turner to recognize his incredible bravery in continuing to pursue an armed, dangerous criminal into the woods in the middle of the night even after being shot. I am incredibly proud of Trooper Turner for his heroic actions and commend all our State Troopers who selflessly serve and protect us every day. myfloridalegal.com/newsrelease/vi…

Earlier this week, we paid our respects to our brothers who left us too soon. It took an army to make this memorial possible in such a short time and under unpredictable circumstances to honor Corporal Luis Paez, Deputy Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, and to support their loving families. We are deeply grateful for the support of our community, not just locally, but from law enforcement agencies across the country. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to local and state officials, as well as President-Elect @realDonaldTrump , for being there. To every single person who contributed, attended, and made the memorial truly meaningful, we are forever thankful. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time. Rest in peace, brothers. Ride in heaven. We’ll take it from here. 🖤 #PBSOstrong

Florida PBA and @PBC_PBA President, John Kazanjian, and PBA leadership from across the state, were privileged to pay their respects yesterday at the memorial service for Deputy Sheriff Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, Deputy Sheriff Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Corporal Luis Paez. During such sorrowful times, it is truly heartwarming to witness the camaraderie among first responders from across the nation coming together to honor their memory. President Kazanjian wishes to thank all the PBA representatives from across the state who attended the memorial service. A special thank you goes to the PBA Grill Team and the volunteers who cooked from the night before to the following day, ensuring that food was ready for everyone in attendance.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our members, Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Despite his courageous fight, Deputy Diaz succumbed to the injuries sustained by the tragic crash that also claimed the lives of Cpl. Luis Paez and D/S Butch Waller. He was a proud member of the Palm Beach County PBA and joined the PBSO in 2004 where he served as a Motor Unit Deputy for over 10 years. Please join us in keeping his friends, family and the entire Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
