@eliotranch Controlled immigration and mass immigration is different things, undocumented immigration which happening under 'refugees' is exploited by criminals

Explain to me how mass immigration is a 'left wing' concept. I can't fathom how people swallowed this idea wholesale. - Endless supply of cheap labour helps capitalists, not workers - Strip mining of talent from developing countries is a form of neocolonialism - Endless pressure on the housing market inflates assets and prevents the poorest from having reasonably priced homes - A refusal to train enough people here removes vocation paths that the working class used to follow - The most negative social and cultural second order consequences are happening to working class, deindustrialised or neglected areas So it's left wing how? I can see how anti-immigrant sentiment can be seen as ethnonationalism and therefore right wing. But I can't see how support for mass immigration is left wing. And to be clear: it's not just a part of left wing thought. It's now so central to left wing thought, apparently, that any divergence from this immediately makes you 'far right'.

@BiankaB12 We in Czechoslovakia only made it to socialism, and boy, it was more than enough, thank you very much, but not a single day more! We were top 10 economies before 1948, but when communist regime fell in 1989, we didn't even have a toilet paper. By the way: 🤣

This is the LAST time I am having this conversation! 👇 WHAT IS SOCIALISM, WHAT IS COMMUNISM, AND WHY WESTERN EUROPE IS NEITHER. According to the CLASSICAL, I repeat, CLASSICAL Marxist theory - not the rebranding from the new age Westoid liberal arts graduates, nor the Leninist, Trotskyist, Stalinist, Maoist or other interpretations - socialism is the transitional stage that precedes communism. socialism → the proletariat rules, private ownership of production is abolished, but there’s still a state, still classes. Communism → no classes, no state, no private property, no money. Utopia. While it may sound good in theory to some (losers), it’s abysmal in practice. Or at the very least - we are the wrong species for it. It would work well for an ant colony, not humans. We are diverse in our ambitions, desires, goals, etc. You wanna see the legacy of socialism? Spent more time in Eastern Europe, we'll educate you. NEITHER WESTERN EUROPE, NOR THE NORDICS ARE SOCIALIST! They are social democracies: capitalist, free market economies with welfare states, progressive taxation, public healthcare, stronger labor protections, etc. NOT socialist! I don't care about Westerners' personal interpretations of the term socialism - they've never lived a single day in such a system. You don't get to rewrite neither history nor economic theory. Either stick to the facts or don't engage in something you neither understand nor have experienced.

@Tendar From putin stand point even negotiations are irrelevant now. Both outcome are end for putin. Most likely he not even in rule now, and negotiations are about how less bad it will be after, but we do not know who is behind now.

It was only yesterday when I said that the war in Ukraine unleashed by Russia is entering its final stage. Then, only a few hours later Putin announced that the war is "coming to an end". Let’s clarify this at the beginning. His remark are coming from position of distress and weakness. The humiliating May 9 parade and more importantly the reasons, which led to it, left a serious mark on him. You cannot overstate the importance the May 9 holds for Putin. It is "his" national holiday, which stands above all. Having it diminished, especially in such a obvious manner, is to diminish him and his rule. Putin has no intentions to seriously end the war at this point, because Russia hasn't achieved anything. Ending it now would put Russia's defeat into writing and bury him, politically, figuratively and eventually literally. Putin tries to distract from his humiliation by attempting to launch another round of talks. This in itself is not new, but it comes at a time when Russian war effort and its economy are in great distress. It is the ideal opportunity to apply even more pressure on Russia.

@marcosagusstinn Germany should reopen it's nuclear plants. Also EU should alow reopen RMBK type reactor in Lithuania, wich is am not sure even possible now. But EU would need cheaper materials for nuclear bombs 😆

Merkel is directly responsible of the current destruction of Germany’s economic model — and indirectly for a large part of Europe’s economic weakness. Germany shut down nuclear power, which once represented around 25% of its electricity generation. While keeping debt extremely low instead of using its massive fiscal capacity to invest aggressively in nuclear, renewables, hydrogen, storage and grid infrastructure. This happened while Germany’s entire economic model depended on industrial exports and a large current account surplus — both directly linked to energy-cost differentials versus its competitors. A country whose exports represent around 47–50% of GDP is committing economic suicide when it gives away its energy sovereignty. Merkel did not just make a policy mistake. She helped break the German economic model.

It's actually absurd how many Europeans fail to grasp that denying us the use of those bases for operations in Iran, which is a more immediate threat to Europe than to us, made even a lot of US fans of NATO wonder what we're doing in Europe anymore.
Andrea Junker@Strandjunker

US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany. It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.

If USA is subsidising nato Wouldn’t Trump be proposing leaving nato and reducing the U.S. military budget? So why is he proposing leaving and increasing the U.S. military budget by 78% lol

People talk about the US being less prepared to defend Europe if they withdraw troops and weapons from Germany. Not enough people are pointing out that Trump is weakening America's ability to defend its own interests overseas. He's neutering America's global power and influence.

German military spending: - 2021 🇩🇪: 50bn EUR - 2027 🇩🇪: 145bn EUR That’s a plus of 190% within 6 years. There is no reason for the U.S. 🇺🇸 Administration to be mad at Germany. We did our homework and we pay our dues.

How dare the Chancellor of Germany attack America while cozying up to Iran. Meanwhile, his country freeloads off of American pharma investments and military security. Perhaps it’s time for a 301 investigation, Chancellor.

🇪🇺 Federalization doesn’t mean losing sovereignty. Just look at the United States: every state keeps its own government, laws, and identity. The federal level only manages shared matters like defense, foreign policy, currency, and trade. You don’t give up what you already have — you simply add a powerful new layer on top. If this model didn’t work, the USA wouldn’t be the superpower it is today.

I am a transatlanticist. I believe North America and Europe should be in alliance held together by common values. And that's genuinely at risk of being lost now. And may continue to be undermined after Trump if we end up with a far-left "tea party" undermining the democrats.
