For what it’s worth, which I appreciate is close to naff all, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Salah dropped on Sunday. He just doesn’t seem to fit in to this current Liverpool set up properly and clearly low on confidence. Could be wrong…

@FplStatsdan @fplblackbox_az Only if you remind me of who they lost in the transfer window? Tbf they managed a CS vs Wolves but Munoz only scraped 0.02 xGI. Interestingly tho it was the 2nd game this season he hit DEFCON so he did pull in 9 points. For me that’s his upside now in this Palace squad.

Not sure why people even went there in the first place. Was a risky punt with relatively low upside. Especially unlucky tonight with him going off injured so early tho.

@FPL_Timmy Fair point, I’d typically look at last 6 for something meaningful so 8 is fine, but if there’s structural changes like manager sacking or losing your best defender/captain I’ll definitely take that into account. Longer term view usually works better when there’s fewer variables.

@FPL_Pages Yep for me, 8 games is not meaningful. And it is 6 league games I think, due to injury? Form can change. A bit like Haaland since the Semenyo signing. We could read into but it wouldn't be so meaningful yet. A longer-term view is more indicative.

@fplblackbox_az @fpl_juice Fair point, I agree with that Az but I said relatively low upside. From my POV lower CS chance, lower att stats, & low DEFCONS. It’s the new game state. Munoz could’ve paid off as any pick can but it was too risky a punt imo & for me not enough upside to warrant the pick.

@FPL_Pages @fpl_juice nah I don't agree, an attacking defender like Munoz always has greater upside potential on the DEFCON defenders. They are obviously more consistent over a season / prolonged period, but if you were backing on a player to deliver over 1 Gameweek, or even 2-3 weeks you'd go Munoz

@FPL_Timmy W/ Guehi 21 games vs w/o 8 games. Haaland’s an interesting case w/ his drop-off as his alternatives don’t have CS & (realistically) DEFCONS as additional routes to points. Not only is his upside higher but it’s also against a lower comparitive floor. Fewer forward options too.

@FPL_Pages But dipped when? Which sample? We could also take a recent sample of Haaland and argue for a dip but we wouldn't say he has a low ceiling, as long-term data is more indicative.

@fpl_juice @fplblackbox_az Last night? Yeh the stage was set, Spurs are so poor. Like I said especially unlucky with the injury. But it’s a new frontier, DEFCONS mean attacking defenders in general just don’t have the same upside they once did, a point particularly relevant to a player like Munoz

@FPL_Timmy His attacking stats have dipped (xGI/90 0.33 vs 0.23) as have Palace’s in general (xG/90 1.72 vs 1.58) & his DEFCON is only 7.18/90. Maybe my view was a little extreme but seems a lot of managers with rose-tinted specs on

@FPL_Pages How can you call someone with Munoz's attacking stats and DC potential low upside? He has hit 14 points twice this season and has the second highest points per match of any defender.

@IceFPL Fair, to each their own. I love Munoz as a player FWIW but for FPL saw it as a risk with relatively low upside.
