Bitcoin, born out of the 2008 financial crisis as a decentralized alternative to traditional banking and a lack of institutional trust, has successfully launched the largest ETF in Wall Street history, despite years of significant pushback from media and global governments. LIV Golf was created with the intention of refreshing the golf scene, targeting a younger audience, and innovating the traditional format. It not only offers a new viewing experience to professional golf but also gives professional golfers equity in the brand they help build. These developments underscore a valuable lesson: the "expert" opinion is not always correct. In sectors as varied as finance and sports, pioneering efforts like Bitcoin and LIV Golf have defied expectations, not only surviving but also establishing new benchmarks and altering established norms. They illustrate that incumbents must remain constantly vigilant, or risk being overtaken by disruptive forces that forever change the landscape.

Again, for the back row, fiscal dominance is when the monetary authority can't run an independent monetary policy aimed at its mandate and has to subjugate its mandate to fiscal objectives. If this were the case in the US the Fed would have never been able to raise the policy rate by 500bps in 12 months and reduce the balance sheet (ie push Treasury ownership into the market) by nearly $2T.

Very much agree with Ben's framing of Bitcoin. A revolutionary idea (demented, but at least idealistic) has been co-opted into "an exposure" Congratulations. You really think rate cuts will prevent recession so late in the cycle when the yield curve has been inverted for so many months, LEIs have been declining for 20 months and bank credit + GDI are contracting? It's very likely we are on the eve of a #Bitcoin spot ETF. The first commodity ETF was SPDR Gold Trust. It provided a simple way for investors to access gold in their portfolio. When it launched gold went on to an 8 year rally with no single down year between 2005 - 2012.
