Technically, the court’s ruling does not prevent Marine Le Pen from running in the presidential election. However, Marine Le Pen had stated that she would not want to—nor be able to—campaign if she were ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor. That is now the case; she will have to wear an electronic ankle monitor for a year. So we will have to wait for her to announce whether or not she will run.
