2. This is Majid Jinn (The Jinn mosque) Masjid al-Jinn is a historic mosque located in Mecca. What makes this mosque famous is a remarkable event connected to it. It is reported that one night the Prophet ﷺ was reciting the Qur’an in this area when a group of jinn listened to his recitation. They were deeply moved by the message and later accepted Islam. This story is connected to verses in the Qur’an, in Surah Al-Jinn: “Say, it has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said: Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur’an.” (Qur’an 72:1) After hearing the recitation, the jinn believed and returned to their people to call them to Islam. Because of this event, the location became and known as Masjid al-Jinn. Another name for it is Masjid al-Bayʿah (the Mosque of the Pledge), because some narrations mention that the jinn pledged their faith to the Prophet ﷺ at that place. May Allah be pleased with the believing jinn of then and now. Āmīn.

PLACES I VISITED IN THE CITY OF MECCA DURING MY RAMADAN UMURAH. A THREAD 🧵 1. Maqbara al-Maʿlā (Jannat al-Muʿallā) — the historic cemetery of Mecca. This is one of the oldest cemeteries in Islam and among the most significant burial grounds in Makkah. The name Maqbara al-Maʿlā means “the elevated” or “the honoured cemetery.” This cemetery holds the graves of several members of the family of Muhammad ﷺ and many early figures of Islam. Among those buried here are: •Khadijah bint Khuwaylid — the beloved first wife of the Prophet ﷺ •Qasim ibn Muhammad •Abdullah ibn Muhammad •Abd al-Muttalib •Abu Talib ibn Abd al-Muttalib •Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr The Prophet ﷺ himself used to visit this cemetery because his beloved wife Khadijah (RA) and other family members were buried there. May Allah be pleased with them all, elevate their ranks, and unite us with them in Jannah. And may Allah grant you the opportunity to visit this blessed place as well.

7. Jabal Rahma (Mount Arafa). This is Jabal Rahman, it’s commonly known as Oke Arafah amongst Yoruba people. This place is one of the most sacred sites in Islam, especially during the pilgrimage of Hajj. The 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah is called the Day of Arafah, and pilgrims must gather around this place. The name Jabal al-Rahmah means “Mountain of Mercy” because this is the place where Allah’s mercy and forgiveness descend greatly on the Day of Arafah. According to Islamic history, this is also the area where: Prophet Adam(AS) and his Hawwa(AS) were reunited after being sent down from paradise to earth. The word “Arafat” is sometimes linked to the old Arabic dialect “ʿarafa”, meaning ‘to know’ or ‘ to recognize’ referring to the moment that Adam and Hawwa recognized each other again after they were sent down to earth. Everyone who go for Hajja must go to this mountain (not must to climb), else their Hajj is invalid. May Allah grant us the means to visit the mount Arafat and worship there. Āmīn.
