@SwishStreet @BostonChowdah The Celts and Knicks have never been real rivals. I live and die with the C'a and would be fine with the Knicks winning. They have good fans and even if they win it's 18-4. Not really sweating that one. The Lakers and their BS Minnesota titles on the other hand can go to hell.

This is gorgeous. It makes one wonder what Byron Nelson might have accomplished had he set his sights on something greater than retiring quietly to a ranch. People marvel at Ben Hogan’s swing, but to me Lord Byron’s is perfect.

@KYGolfHoles I honestly haven't watched any of it. I'm sure for normal people it's just fine. Those guys are so good, they just make anywhere look like the easiest golf course on the planet. Also, the way the PGA TOUR sets up golf courses to make sure no one complains isn't helping.

Pinehurst (No. 10) is an expansive, insanely fun Tom Doak & Angela Moser design in the sand mines of the Sandhills. Extremely demanding Par-4s, beautiful Par-5s & great Par-3 variety. Quickly becoming the second best course at the resort, it’s an absolute thrill ride to play.

@casualclubguy Go to California. Riviera, Bel Air, LACC N and Cal Club are your jam for sure. And just like they should be following a gettable 5, the second hole on all is a tough 4.

Most courses, old or new, do the same thing. Warm up par 4. Pretty straight with a few bunkers in the 280-300 yard area. No hazards. I like par 5s to start. Two stick out in my mind East Lake and Erin Hills

Always a treat to play Garden City Golf Club for a reminder that the three musts for a dazzlingly fun golf course are sandy soil, a brilliant architect, and a terrific superintendent and grounds crew. Amazing that a course in NY can look and play this good this early in the year.

@jamierkennedy Toughest played were Bethpage Red, Torrey South, and Muirfield. Most memorable is The Old Course. Most picturesque is Crail Balcomie. The one I want to play is Machrihanish. Most emotional is Green Knoll (NJ) where I started this life-long obsession at 13 years old.

The great (and tragic part of his death) was his new perspective and attitude on/off the golf course during that time. 100% thought it was genuine and I bet a moment Phil, even in defeat, appreciated.

Watching the 1986 US Open at Shinnecock, the game is hardly recognizable to the landscape of professional golf today. Everywhere you look there were homemade swings. Highly idiosyncratic moves like Floyd (who won) Trevino and Lanny Wadkins here, all with fierce belief in their games.
