That McDonald's became one of the highest-volume locations in Texas. The first office building, designed to reflect the surrounding forest so you couldn't see it from the street, leased completely. The Woodlands median home price today: $615,000. Katy, a comparable Houston suburb that clear-cut: $375,000. Named #1 community to live in America two years running. Fifty years of data. The trees are worth more than removing them saves. Developers clear-cut anyway because they sell the house once and leave. You live in it for 30 years.

@modernheroestv @GeorgeAndison Nissan Leaf here in Arizona has no resale value. Battery issues caused class action lawsuits. I almost bought a used one just because I don’t care about battery degradation because my commute was just 15 minutes. Only didn’t do it because I simply work from home now most days.

@ockhams Dit heeft maar een beperkte houdbaarheid. Wereldwijd wordt er onegeveer 100 miljoen vaten per dag verbruikt. 36 uur respijt, dat is een aas waar olie professionals niet in zullen bijten.

Trump heeft zojuist misschien een straffe zet gedaan met betrekking tot Iraanse olie, en het is meedogenloos! De VS laten 140 miljoen vaten (14 miljard dollar waard) Iraanse olie die zich al op zee bevinden, verkopen. De prijzen kunnen dalen en de markt wordt overspoeld met aanbod. Maar Iran ontvangt geen cent, omdat sancties hen de toegang tot het geld ontzeggen.

@Kizzume @wydyama I like that I can “feel” the gears. Even with a manual shift mode, especially with lots of gears like 8 speed ZF, you need to look which gear you’re in.

@wydyama I don't like it on hilly areas, but I DO like having more immediate power, and I especially like how I can tell how fast I'm going via the sound of the RPMs in conjunction with the gear I'm currently in. You can't really do that with an automatic.

@BovodioToad @wydyama Maybe it was because I drove diesels, but that type of traffic didn’t bother me. It does depend on the car, I drove an Alfa 156 and I found the clutch a bitch. I drove my manager’s 911 GT3 and the clutch is like silk.

The pipes hardly ever failed, and the pump was equally bulletproof as long as everything worked properly (pumps were killed by failed accumulator spheres which meant they ran all the time rather than very occasionally) and spheres were cheap to replace, no problems.

@RonnyMatthijs In Frankrijk draaien sinds jaar en dag de kerncentrales voluit, en waterkrachtcentrales zijn reversibel. Bij overproductie worden stuwmeren volgepompt, bij piekvraag lopen ze leeg. Zo bufferen ze daar, werkt als jaren prima. In Nederland in afwezigheid van bergen is dit lastiger.

Wetende dat “elektriciteit” als energiebron niet kan worden gestockeerd (behalve uw kleine batterij thuis), denk maar aan de gigantische stroompanne in Spanje/Portugal van vorig jaar. Fossiele brandstoffen zoals olie of gas hebben wel dit voordeel. Fossiel verbieden is waanzin.

Und 15.517,- Mehrwertsteuer (ein perverser Name), die auf den Nettopreis UND die NoVA eingehoben wird. Macht 93.101,- Endpreis. In den USA wären Sie ab 51.000,- USD dabei. Dort ein halbes Durchschnittsjahresgehalt. Im Reich des Bösen (Trump) sind die Löhne deutlich höher und die Steuern deutlich niedriger. Unsere Politiker sind ebenso unfähig wie gierig. Afuera! Weg mit ihnen!

@EthnoEuro @KP45548113 @ChrisVeber1 Texas ist schrecklich. In Arizona zahle ich so $2000 pro Jahr für ein „Dreigaragenhaus“ 215qm mit Swimmingpool. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern was in NRW bezahlt zu haben, in Frankreich bezahle ich um €2100 für ein 110qm Haus, also vergleichbar.
