The largest medical center in the world. The texas medical center has 9200 beds and serves 10 million patients visits a year. Jamaica has 4000 beds for 3 million visits per years. We have a bed turn over problem. Stays that should be a day or 2 in the hospital turn into weeks because patients aren't get imaging on time, medications on time, consultations on time, labwork arent back on time. Jamaica bed ratio to visits is ok. We have a system issue. Parts of the system takes too long to produce results thus we have a bed availability problem. Yes staffing is an issues but key areas need better turn around times
