Let me tell you a true story about something really weird that happened to me several years ago on my first ever trip to Egypt, involving The Kings Chamber, Templar Rituals & Wild Plateau Dogs. So the first time I ever travelled to Egypt I was with a rather eclectic group, a mix of researchers, scholars, historians and, amongst us, a grandmaster within the knights templar order. We paid to have private access (official) to the Giza Plateau after hours, no tourists on the site, just our group and a few armed guards. We had the freedom to explore The Great Pyramid alone. The Templar Grandmaster was performing rites in the Kings Chamber, Gregorian style chanting etc, we had the opportunity to lie down inside the sarcophagus (EXTREMELY strange sensation) Me and my friend decided to leave the inner chambers of The Great Pyramid to get some fresh air, so we left the group, the chanting of the rites carrying through the entire network as we descended The Grand Gallery. When we exited the pyramid the sun was setting over Cairo, it was beautiful, so we scrambled across the stone blocks and found a good spot to sit, absorb the experience and appreciate the moment. Then suddenly a howl. It was a "Temple Dog", the locals call them this, they are a particular breed of dog that you will find at almost every single sacred, ancient site in Egypt. They are usually extremely docile, seeking shade, sleep, food and water. They are believed by many to be guardians of the temple sites. (always be careful, I have given food/water to a few of the dogs, but rabies is real so always be careful) This one was not docile, he howled like a wolf and was standing up on a series of blocks that were further away to the right of the Great Pyramid, then another one showed up, and another.... and another... Suddenly there were about a dozen temple dogs surrounding the first one, he howled again and began to run, then the others began to run with him and then... much to our astonishment, more temple dogs from other areas of the Plateau also came running, all converging into a loose group of roughly 30 dogs. They never behave like this. They all ran as a group and ended up all over the Eastern Cemetery, standing on various parts of the cemetery and all of them looking right at us, right at The Great Pyramid, all staring at us. Now I don't know if these dogs behaving the way they did had anything to do with what was going on that night inside The Kings Chamber, all I know is that I have never seen the temple dogs behave this way before, and haven't seen it happen since. Did they know something was going on inside? 👀
