We’re happy to answer questions you might have about the data, but I think you’ll find that statements like that S2 was party-motivated simply don’t hold water.

I’m rural &we have a $600k cut on top of a million dollar loss which last year resulted in a loss of academic classes, and we have one of the best credit ratings in the state!! Stop tagging your buddy Sweeney. He plays only for his democratic areas. You know it.

What you're implying is disappointing at best, reckless at worst. You know better. Put the dog whistle away. @NJSenatePres @GovMurphy @SpeakerCoughlin

@taylorjung_ @NJSpotlightNews Congrats! NJ Spotlight has done a bunch of articles on over-aided school districts who are seeing their state aid right-sized. We'd love to see an article about persistently under-aided districts who are finally seeing school aid increases and the positive impact on students!

@NJSenatePres @KingswayDragons Know this won’t be a popular response but why should precious school funding dollars be used for athletics, versus academics? When taxpayers dollars are obviously “tight,” athletics should, MUST take a “backseat.”

Just a few years ago, Kingsway was considering cutting athletics to save money. I am happy to see that is no longer the case today because we changed the school funding law to make it fair. @KingswayDragons deserve fair funding.

YES! Despite this N.Arlington is still under-aided by $1186 PER STUDENT, and Lyndhurst by $447 PER STUDENT. Federal fund distribution must be used to help our neediest learners and cannot be Adjustment Aid 2.0. @NJSenatePres
Paul Sarlo@PaulASarlo

Two school districts in my District 36 receiving substantial increases in new fiscal year; Lyndhurst increase of $656k and North Arlington increase of $1.37M to address learning loss & to improve their infrastructure healthy buildings @NoArlingtonNJ @LyndhurstMiddle

Chronically underaided districts will greatly benefit from this federal $ in order to curb learning loss and keep faculty and families safe. This is a luxury overaided districts are already able to do without the federal dollars. @NJSenatePres @DrAllenMcMillan
Paul Sarlo@PaulASarlo

As Chair of Senate Budget & Appropriations Cmtte taking testimony from NJ DOE @DrAllenMcMillan clearly w/ the unprecedented infusion of federal funds; we need to ensure monies being directed to address learning loss, math & healthy buildings; not time for pie in sky new programs

In Chesterfield, this meant a second counselor to assist with over 700 students. In Kingsway, it meant more special ed teachers to ensure compliance. In many communities it meant finally compensating their educators what they deserve!
Steve Sweeney@SteveSweeney_NJ

By making greater fiscal efforts to fund our schools, we have been able to assist in the hiring of more needed staff, made smaller class sizes possible, and ensured competitive wages for our educators. 1/2
