@garygilligan @BenDeetoy And they don’t like minimum wage, say it stops small businesses making money! Most of the ones on minimum wage are topped up by government, they don’t get irony.

Reform put out a clip where the Makerfield candidate tells a man who received a £5m "donation" that paying an apprentice £8 an hour is too much. Reform are not your friends...

If a young girl is "old enough" to be a victim of sexual assault, then the young boy who sexually assaulted her is old enough to be sent to prison. Stop with this "he's so young this will ruin his life" mess.

Nope. Don't care what they try to bribe me with. I will never vote for them again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I left Labour in 1999, rejoined in 2015 to support Ed Miliband as a £3-er when the prospect of continuity Toryism was a threat, then as a full member again after he lost the GE. I should have known better, and joined the Greens back then, but thought they were just LibDems on bikes back in those days. (I was wrong, and should have looked at their policies more closely).

Reading some Labour posts on FB saying that the Greens "split the left vote" and "let Reform in". Mate, the Greens ARE the eco-left now. Centrist warmongers and continuation-austerity purveyors are no longer "the left" and are not owed our votes, especially in circumstances where many of us were former Labour members told by your leader to bugger off. Get used to it.

Hahahahah! Just seen this on FB: ---- Have you found yourself in the hideous position of having a Reform councillor? Here’s how you can help your brand new councillor settle into local government properly: email them this week with an actual council problem to solve. Got rubbish piling up? Email them. Bus vanished from existence? Email them. Streetlights dead? Email them. Care package delayed? Email them. Pavement like the Somme? Email them. Send them in by the hundred. Make sure they’re made very clear on what their job is. Being a councillor is not standing in front of the Union flag shouting about dinghies on GB News. It’s reading committee papers at midnight, attending meetings nobody enjoys, holding surgeries in church halls, and dealing with the endlessly glamorous world of drains, social care budgets and recycling disputes. Welcome to local government. The boats are in Kent. The bins are in your ward. The email address for your ward councillor can be found on your local council website as soon as it’s updated. Feel free to copy and paste to share wider.

From a local FB page. People like Reform because it has finally given them permission to express their racist hatred openly. 😢 ----- I have been an election agent for the Labour Party in Crawley for 8 years Yesterday, for the first time ever, I cried at a count. Was it because we'd lost a lot of seats, because we had? No. I cried because a very hard working, dedicated, British born Councillor of Pakistani descent had the word "deport' written next to her name on a ballot paper with a Reform vote. When the doubtful papers were shown to candidates and agents, I challenged the Reform agent to disown the vote and he refused. I saw a number of other ballot papers with racist, islamophobic and antisemitic comments. I'm used to the abusive comments about parties and policies on papers, we tend to have a laugh with them. I'm also used to the many pictures of penises on ballot papers (you guys are all so original), but I haven't seen so much hatred written on ballot papers. What are we becoming as a country? Why do people feel emboldened to put their hatred out there? It's vile.

As I said earlier, these have been really tough results today - including in Wakefield. As the PM has said, this is now a time for serious, calm-headed reflection, because following these results, we must listen and respond, but do so in a steady, thoughtful and reflective way.
