Today at approximately 12:20pm, @austinfiredept put out a dumpster fire at the North Lamar/51st 7-Eleven. It appears that the side of the dumpster caught on fire. What can this possibly be other than arson?

This was the case the day she went missing, also. ICE had just arrived and their were protests on the 31st. On Jan 11th, operation deep freeze began. This is a city initiative that gets all homeless people into a home or shelter for the freezing temperatures. Many churches are involved. I've wondered if Nancy's group was involved. On Google maps, Nancy's house is shown as the "Guthrie housing complex" or it was at one time.

They more worried about getting ICE / Border Patrol out of Tucson than finding Nancy Guthrie.

I agree SNAP shouldn't buy candy. But at the same time, this doesn't address hypoglycemic people. We haven't had any arrests or investigations, any measures to stop the fraud. So we are essentially telling the struggling women and children its their fault. A kid in poverty may only get one treat a month, like a single carton of chocolate milk. Thats what I remember being poor as a child. Food has a way of bringing families together. This measure doesn't address the problem that got us here. That is my point. An illegal immigrant mother with 6 kids (all 6 kids get SNAP) going to school paid by tax payers. Her illegal immigrant husband works tax free under the table. They go to hospitals, use free clinics, use municipal ID and get free bus passes, laundry services, cell phone and internet. Multiply that by 11 million (minimum) and then add in the ones selling their foodstamps for hair and nails, letting the schools feed their 6 kids breakfast and lunch, the grocery stores defrauding the system and the individuals getting benefits in multiple states. A soda or candy bar seems like the wrong thing to spend time on. If we want to address obesity, let's start with the cause and the solution. I haven't seen a single study that indicates SNAP is the cause of obesity. So again, my point is why punish poor people before addressing the real problem? This is dumb and solves nothing. Absolutely nothing. A waste of time. So some rich people can feel better about what? A kid not drinking chocolate milk? Ridiculous

Cost of living has increased due to supply vs demand. Very simple. Add millions more people to the population and demand rises. Supply needs increases. When those 11 - 50 million (if we go back 25 years) are not paying into the system and/or defrauding the system, the system fails.

Where does that money come from? Taxes, ultimately. Individuals, businesses, sales and use taxes, property taxes etc. guess what 1/2

@FaithInElon @GregAbbott_TX 2/2 that does to prices of things? Your dollar is devalued due to inflation 6-7x what is was in 1970. Entitlements drive costs higher and you get taxed more to pay for it, businesses have higher overhead so goods and services cost more, so your money doesn’t go as far.

What about hypoglycemic people? 11% of our population in Texas is on SNAP. The majority of that is children. Obesity affects adults in Texas more than children and numbers are higher among certain demographics. Other factors have been proven to be the cause, such as lack of exercise. No studies mentioned SNAP

@FaithInElon @GregAbbott_TX The juice on stores is flavored sugar water and it causes diabetes. Tax payers end up having to pay for in the long run. So many unhealthy people and if its from tax payer money then we absolutely have a right to vote in representatives who will stop it.

Thats fantastic. How does a single mom pay for child care to work 2 jobs and be a good mom at the same time? You cant be a good mom if you aren't present in their life. Women and children are not the problem. They shouldn't be punished. The men who make these children and abandon them are the problem. This creates every problem we are seeing today. From welfare to crime. Remember when the government decided that government cheese was the best decision? That led to malnutrition for kids in poverty.

Since January, SNAP recipients have been publicly shamed and attacked, leading to this action of restrictions on what they eat. While millions of illegal immigrants were put up in hotels, given Billions in SNAP and FEMA money for plane tickets, Americans who need 3 months of assistance get denied and shamed. Single moms and children, mom's who have jobs but the father decided he isn't responsible for his kids. Texas tax payers over paid $27B in taxes, yet Texas doesn't have a state income tax. No one cares about this or where this money is or why taxpayers haven't been reimbursed, but everyone cares about a single mom getting juice with too much sugar? A single woman with one child gets approximately $300 a month for SNAP. WE NEED CHILDREN, WE NEED MOTHERS. THEY ARE NOT THE PROBLEM
