Ex-vangelicals did not deconstruct their faith because they were presented with a compelling logical argument to do so. They apostatized because of their passions and lusts. They wanted the sex, they wanted the approval of the culture, they wanted the pleasure, and so they deconstruct their faith so that they can pursue what they really love. They then try and find reasons and logic to explain to their mind why they followed their heart after the fact. Not to mention the fact that The Evangelical Church in America has excelled in hypocrisy due to a total lack of church discipline and had largely failed to pass on the kind of faith that can weather the storm of secularism. Christian’s, We have the better story. We had better start preaching and living like we believe it.
