Dean Burmester had a great back and forth about the South African crowds this week and then ended with a dig at Rory McIlroy’s comments about the event: “I think bringing up Rory here after his comments of South Africa is not a great idea.” Watch until the end.
Flushing It@flushingitgolf

The South African fans are awesome. They’re supporting all the players in the event, but are even more vocal for their home heroes and the receptions they receive are another level. It’s a perfect balance 🇿🇦

Have never seen a train of autographs like I just witnessed Bryson DeChambeau sign in South Africa. People ripping shirts off their backs. Shoes off their feet. Signing umbrellas, hats, backpacks, cellphone cases, balls, gloves.

🚨🇪🇺❌ #REJECTED — LIV Golf star and 10-time DPWT winner Jon Rahm has reportedly rejected a settlement deal that was offered to LIV Golfers by the DP World Tour, which had a deadline of yesterday to accept. Rahm is not among the golfers that the Tour has agreed to grant conditional media releases to for the 2026 season, putting his Ryder Cup future in question. Rahm has said previously that he will refuse to pay outstanding fines levied against him, which now total more than $3M USD and that it will all work itself out eventually. The following LIV golfers were given the conditional releases: Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin, Adrian Meronk, Victor Perez, David Puig and Elvis Smylie. These players are now able to play in LIV Golf events this year without penalty, while maintaining their DPWT membership, provided they pay their outstanding fines, participate in stipulated DPWT events and withdraw any pending appeals they have against the tour. What do you think will happen next?

Well that was a wild week out in the desert with @tntsports. My first foray into broadcasting, under the lights at LIV Riyadh. Really had no idea what to expect from a broadcasting or an event point of view but thoroughly enjoyed both. I wouldn’t want to play night golf all the time, but as a one off it was a lot of fun to be part of and creates an amazing stage and I’m definitely here for the laser shows! Brilliant to be alongside Craig Doyle who could have powered the entire venue with the energy he exudes and a shout out to @racheldrummond for all the league insights, as well as the TNT team putting it all together and having me on board. Going again next week in Adelaide which I hear is something special 👀

@PhilMickelson @JoshACarpenter @chambleebrandel And just a further note, I think the Players is a wonderful tournament and one of the greatest finishes in golf, but to be the 5th major they have to open their doors to the global best. Been lucky to have played well there a couple of times and I love it.

. @chambleebrandel is paid to give his opinion and did so here in calling the Players the best major. “The Players, to me, stands alone and above the other four major championships as not just a major, it is in my estimation, the best major.” Full comments

🚨🇪🇺⛳️ #NEW — LIV Golf’s Ian Poulter reveals that he wants to be involved with the European Ryder Cup Team in some capacity. “I’d obviously still love to have some involvement in the Ryder Cup in some way, shape, or form…” “From a perspective of wanting to have a helping hand in something I’ve been quite a big part of over the last two decades, yeah, it would be a dream come true if we could be in that position. “It’s worked that way for Jon and Tyrrell and they’ve still accepted those guys in with the Ryder Cup and, hopefully, that relationship can continue.” ➡️ Would you like to see Poulter be a captain? McDowell is right. Puig, McKibbon, Smyle, Ballaster....that's a core of really good young players. And if they can combine their LIV starts with some kind of access to the DPWT then that's a very legit way to start and build a career.
Graeme McDowell@Graeme_McDowell

Hot take but LIV is a legitimate pathway for young potential superstars who can get paid to be mentored in their young careers by Tour greats and play a guaranteed schedule. The road to the PGA Tour is increasingly perilous and littered with great talent that never made it.

Random tweet. You go to the grocery store and while there, you want to buy a great wine but don’t want to add another stop. Try Austin Hope. It’s a $500 wine with a $65-80 price tag. Not the cheapest but it’s exquisite 😋

Clickbait at its finest here. The article is about what it would mean to me to be the Ryder Cup captain in Ireland in 2027. Misquoted regards “ekeing out a living”. Supposed to read “ekeing out the last few years of my playing career”. I’ve been incredibly fortunate and if it was all done tomorrow all I would have is gratitude. That’s all.

🚨👀⛳️ #NEW — LIV Golfer Graeme McDowell weighs in on the ongoing divide in golf: “The divisiveness has come from the best players in the world. It hasn’t came from the 40-somethings like myself that are just trying to eke out a living and staying competitive on an opportunity that was presented to us, which would have been crazy to say no to from a business point of view.” ➡️ Do you agree? Not many people can run a $2.4 trillion company and he’s making less than countless pro athletes. Stop worrying about how much others make and look at what they produce and contribute to society. This narrow-minded thinking holds us back.

As a Chicagoan, with friends & family still there, let me tell you—there is no reason for what the federal government is doing. It’s another attempt to divide a city & create fear & Chicagoans will not tolerate this & TY Mayor Johnson & Gov. Pritzker for stellar leadership. /END
