Meet BCAN Young Investigator Awardee @JaekwonKim49373 of @WeillCornell. “This award will support my research investigating how environmental carcinogens drive APOBEC-mediated mutagenesis in bladder cancer. I am deeply grateful to BCAN for supporting early-career investigators and advancing research that may ultimately improve prevention and treatment strategies for bladder cancer patients.”

1/ Results from #ARC20 trial are out in @Nature! This trial evaluated the HIF-2α inhibitor Casdatifan in heavily pretreated advanced ccRCC and provides important insights into HIF-2α biology and response. This is the 2nd HIF2 inhibitor with enough activity to move to a pivotal study after Belzutifan, cementing the 2019 @nobelprize story with @kaelinlab et al Check it out: nature.com/articles/s4158…

Meet BCAN Young Investigator Awardee @Rahul_RaSingh of @WeillCornell. “Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States, and once it spreads, treatment options remain very limited. This award supports my research into how brief bursts of DNA damage leave a permanent mark that drives cancer spread, and how we can reverse it using next-generation protein-degrader technologies. The BCAN Young Investigator Award is the foundation I need to turn these discoveries into real therapeutic strategies for patients with metastatic bladder cancer.”

Very happy to have published the results of our ICRA study, investigating Tremelimumab +/-paclitaxel+/- durva in M+ urothelial cancer! A project spanning many years, in which we optimized the dose, expanded in 2 stage design and did extensive TR. nature.com/articles/s4146…

Sharing a new paper from the lab: How do ecDNAs segregate during cancer cell division? ecDNA lacks a centromere and needs to attach to mitotic chromosomes to be distributed to daughter cells. The question is: HOW? nature.com/articles/s4155… -1/x

A message to @NazliDizman: Today you will graduate from your #oncology fellowship at @UTMDAnderson. The picture below is from the 2016 @myESMO meeting in Copenhagen just after you started with my group at @cityofhope. You were my first postdoctoral fellow, and honestly, I didn't know what the heck I was doing when it came to mentoring you. The fortunate thing is you were a self starter & made my job incredibly easy, paving a clear path not just for yourself but for the trainees that came after. It's been a joy to see all that you have accomplished - publishing in @NatureMedicine, @TheLancetOncol, @JCO_ASCO & other top tier journals, getting amazing young investigator grants from @ASCO, @KidneyCancer & more & racking up more @ConquerCancerFd Merit Awards than any other trainee in recent memory (maybe tied with @crisbergerot?). Along the way, you've kept a humility & kindness about you that is unmatched, always willing to lend a hand to your junior colleagues. Your road has not been an easy one, coming from tumultuous times abroad to @cityofhope, then to @YaleIMed and then to @UTMDAnderson, but this arduous road has equipped you well for your first faculty position at @DanaFarber. I am so proud to see you join a group of oncology luminaries at @Harvard (@DrChoueiri, @KimmieNgMD, @stolaney1, @mishabeltran & so many others!!) - I am confident your stellar trajectory will continue further with their support. Enjoy Boston and know that you will always have support & good vibes coming from the west coast. All the best, #WorkDad

🎙️ New from Uromigos How long should patients stay on enfortumab vedotin plus pembrolizumab? And what’s next for targeted therapy in bladder cancer? In this episode, returning guest Matt Galsky, MD, joins the Uromigos to tackle one of the most debated questions in urothelial cancer care: treatment duration in both metastatic and perioperative settings. The conversation also explores promising new research targeting PPARγ signaling in advanced bladder cancer. 🎧 Listen Here: Apple Podcasts: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/epi… Spotify: open.spotify.com/episode/7ou6Hy… GU Oncology Now: guoncologynow.com/podcast/episod…
