As we enter the New Year 2026, I send my warm wishes to the good people of Lekki LCDA and Lagos State. The year 2025 was not easy; but together we stayed strong. With patience and cooperation, we made steady progress and continued to serve our people. In the new year, our work continues. We will keep improving our roads, environment, security, and services to the people. The welfare of our people remains my top priority. I sincerely thank our traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, women, security agencies, and council staff for their support and cooperation. Your support means a lot to me. As we move into the new year, I ask for unity and understanding. When we work together, we can achieve more. I wish you and your families good health, peace, and prosperity in 2026. Happy New Year.

Let me state without ambiguity: under no circumstance would I, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, nominate the immediate past INEC Chairman for an ambassadorial position. Such a nomination raises serious concerns. It risks appearing as a quid pro quo rather than a recognition of merit. It presents terrible optics for an administration already struggling with credibility. It sends the wrong message to the current @inecnigeria leadership; that partisan, compromised, or poorly executed elections may ultimately be rewarded. And most importantly, it is morally indefensible for an umpire at the centre of one of the most disputed elections in our history to become a beneficiary of its outcome. This is not the path to strengthening our democracy or restoring public trust in our institutions. -AA

State Police: my bro and friend sent me this write-up: for discussion: hope @barauijibrin @OfficialBenKalu and @hccrNigeria will find this contribution useful. Unfortunately none of these will work. The police we have in Nigeria today is incapable of doing policing even if motivated. -(a): We must do the fundamental. Never waste a crisis. Very simple things will work.. 1. Restructure the federal police to reflect the country by devolving 85% of the Force to their local government of origin where they can be most effective and motivated. -(a): Only Mobile Police, Counter Terrorism and Specialized Investigation Units should be centralized. -(b): and Most Senior Officers who should be movable around Regional, State and Zonal Commands to ensure national outlook. -(c): Thus, only beyond a certain rank or when in specialized forces should any police be moved outside their LGA. 2. Responsibility for day to day management, as well as recommendation for hiring and promotion should be transferred to Local Police Boards. -(a): The constitution in Section 216.1 already allows the Police Board to delegate its power of police management. -(b): It doesn’t even manage today, so it should do so to Local police boards immediately. -(c): These boards should not be elected or paid but tenured, with specific civil society bodies appointing their members for a period of no longer than two years -(d): to oversight each local government formation of the Federal Police with sync to the police commission for recommendations for promotions, motivation bonuses and firing including approval of new hires into the “community” based police -(e): under this model. traditional rulers , teachers, unions, faith based bodies et al should be specified as these groups under such fiat order that the police council can pass legally tomorrow. 3: The president, governors and IG are the members of police council today. See your constitution. No amendment required. 4: Sequel to this order, and devolution of the police force in an orderly manner within 6 months, the police should stop the obsolete and colonial era barrack system. 7: Police don’t stay in barracks, they live among the people. When we devolve and motivate locally, this should happen. 8: Let’s pay them housing allowance, let them live among us and watch insecurity disappear. They won’t watch their local government invaded. 9: Community associations and LGAs should then be encouraged to set up local security trust fund, to provide extra bonuses and funding to their devolved community police. 10: Indeed, immediately implementing the Supreme Court order directing FG to fund LGAs directly will go a long way. Simple things. 11: It is only after a 18-24 months period when this devolved federal policing system has settled in place should we pass constitutional amendments to enable State Police. @NigeriaSenate @HouseNGR @PoliceNG @AOFAMIYESIN @LegendaryJoe

STATEHOUSE STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU DECLARES A SECURITY EMERGENCY, ORDERS ARMY, POLICE TO RECRUIT MORE PERSONNEL Today, in view of the emerging security situation, I have decided to declare a nationwide security emergency and order additional recruitment into the Armed Forces. By this declaration, the police and the army are authorised to recruit more personnel. The police will recruit an additional 20,000 officers, bringing the total to 50,000. Although I had previously approved the nationwide upgrade of police training facilities, the police authorities are, by this statement, authorised to use various National Youth Service Corps camps as training depots. The officers being withdrawn from VIP guard duties should undergo crash training to debrief them and deliver more efficient police services when deployed to security-challenged areas of the country. The DSS also has my authority to immediately deploy all the forest guards already trained to flush out the terrorists and bandits lurking in our forests. The agency also has my directive to recruit more men to man the forests. There will be no more hiding places for agents of evil. My fellow Nigerians, this is a national emergency, and we are responding by deploying more boots on the ground, especially in security-challenged areas. The times require all hands on deck. As Nigerians, we should all get involved in securing our nation. Let me take this moment to commend our security agencies for working together to secure the release of the 24 schoolgirls in Kebbi and the 38 worshippers in Kwara State. We will continue to sustain the efforts to rescue the remaining students of Catholic School in Niger State and other Nigerians still being held hostage. To the leadership and rank and file of our Armed Forces, I commend your courage and your sacrifice. This is a challenging moment for our nation and for the military institution itself. I charge you to remain resolute, to restore peace across all theatres of operation, and to uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity. There must be no compromise, no collusion, and no negligence. The Nigerian people are counting on you, and this administration will provide the support you need to succeed. In addition, our administration will support state governments which have set up security outfits to safeguard their people from the terrorists bent on disrupting our national peace. I call on the National Assembly to begin reviewing our laws to allow states that require state police to establish them. States should rethink establishing boarding schools in remote areas without adequate security. Mosques and churches should constantly seek police and other security protection when they gather for prayers, especially in vulnerable areas. Our administration created the Livestock Ministry to address the persistent clashes between herders and farmers. I call on all herder associations to take advantage of it, end open grazing and surrender illegal weapons. Ranching is now the path forward for sustainable livestock farming and national harmony. The Federal Government, in collaboration with the states, will work with you to solve this problem, once and for all. I sympathise with the families who have lost their loved ones in recent attacks on soft targets in Kebbi, Borno, Zamfara, Niger, Yobe, and Kwara States. I also pay tribute to our brave soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, including Brigadier-General Musa Uba. Those who want to test our resolve should never mistake our restraint for weakness. This administration has the courage and determination to keep the country safe and ensure our citizens live in peace. Fellow Compatriots, I urge you not to give in to fear and never succumb to despair. Let's stand together in purpose and strength to defend our freedom and values. Our administration will continue to guarantee peaceful co-existence and preserve our union. I urge all Nigerians to remain calm and vigilant. Report suspicious activities. Cooperate with security agencies. We are in this fight together, and together we shall win. May God continue to bless Nigeria and keep our armed forces safe. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR @officialABAT President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria November 26, 2025 #KemKem
