@pureMetatron The difference lies in didacticism. Some games present clearly left-leaning characters or storylines, they're self-contained within their own narrative. Others like Veilguard, are clearly there to lecture the players about something in an insolent, blatant way.

@shanedk Strictly, that was the case in Byzantine Empire, as they were a type of theocracy. In the western Europe that wasn't the thing at all.

@shanedk They weren't. You're confusing masonic separation of the state and church with medieval organization of judiciary system.

@shanedk You can even find information about that in just about any encyclopedia. But whatever. You're intellectual dishonesty tires me. Take care!

@Farathriel Wow, you're actually going to reference a source known for anti-autism bullshit??? Yeah, there's no point in having a discussion with you...

@prepossessingxx @chilean_catgirl I am tired of "death of the author". No, I cannot assume that God doesn't exist when reading Genesis because the author of Genesis believed in the existence of Adonai. Approaching the text otherwise is unacademic, i.e. it has nothing to do with exegesis.

@Farathriel @chilean_catgirl Think about it this way: If you read Genesis without assuming God is omniscient lots of the text would be understood as God not knowing everything. Saying that such a person did not read Genesis correctly misses the fact that the disagreement is about posture to the text.

@shanedk You're confusing secular, state judicial system with Church's canon law courts.

@Farathriel Oh, and by the way, those "state-owned" (weird phrasing) courts WERE church courts, because the church WAS the state!

@Farathriel No, they absolutely were not! They're based on common law that goes back to ancient Rome. You're just LYING about the Inquisition, and anyone familiar with the history knows that!

@prepossessingxx @chilean_catgirl I think you've taken my words as if you were the creator of the meme. I understand your sentiment for lecturing me but it misses the mark entirely.

@Farathriel @chilean_catgirl The original post assumes that Pilate actually said what the Bible claims but I don't make that assumption so I get a different conclusion. If you want to be taken seriously at least attempt to track why people come to different conclusions than you.

@prepossessingxx @chilean_catgirl The meme says something different, that's a first. Secondly, it compares (and so do you) theological reason for Christ's death with political plot against Him. It's a mistaken exclusive disjunction to compare these two like that. For that alone I take that meme as ill-willed.

@Farathriel @chilean_catgirl If you are a Christian you probably believe Jesus died for your sins. I believe Jesus died out of fears of political unrest. We have different conclusions because we have different starting premises. That is not bias or lack of education.

@prepossessingxx @chilean_catgirl I didn't refer to scholars but random people on the Internet, who quite frankly are uneducated and negatively biased against the Bible, Christianity and Christ Himself.

@Farathriel @chilean_catgirl You can reject this conclusion without assuming the people who hold it are stupid or uneducated. There are bible scholars who think Jesus was probably executed out of fear or a rebellion.

@ShitpostRock They are utterly unable to read not because of some supposed intellectual incapacity. They were simply made this way in schools and exacerbated the problem via postmodernist echo chambers.

@ShitpostRock Media literacy is what made them inept at reading plain text. If the author is dead, any interpretation is correct. If postmodernism is true, then deconstructing any writing and seeking supposedly hidden patterns is more important than the intention of the author.

@johndrewmarkley Keep in mind however that it's not only atheists and postmodern emotivists who are like that. It's a common problem these days that people in general don't know where their ideas come from. Most of what they believe and say is unoriginal and has already been invented.

@johndrewmarkley Internalized Christianity meme is a hypocrisy accussation. People are unaware of their cultural and philosophical background, unknowingly believe in it, while also dunking at it when it's convenient. It unmasks spineless characters and stubborness.

@dStoolofWisdom They are mostly Protestants who unaware of it, support anti-scientific movement because of XIX century conflict between scientific community and Christians. Anti-theist movement on the other hand, isn't even original. All their arguments date back to that XIX century conflict.

Two truths can co-exist, really. Father Georges does not represent the whole body of Christianity. As far as I know from dozens of Christian pages here, some Christians are actually anti-science. Not all Christians, yes, but a good number of them. E.g., evolution deniers.

@God_Questioner You guys seriously need to get a grip and stop attributing every biological contingency to the Absolute. It's childish and has been dealt in philosophy hundreds of years ago. It's hardly an own creating infographics like these.

@Miraika_San Depresja w większości przypadków jest wynikiem złego życia. Kluczem, poza terapią i lekami jest zmiana stylu życia: - Regularny sen - Unikanie stresu i przeładowania - Eliminacja używek - Korekta diety i deficytów żywieniowych - Aktywność fizyczna - Zdrowe relacje interpersonalne
