@operationdanish Because pharma drugs never heal anything in the body, have really bad side effects. Statins can cause muscle weakness and your heart is a muscle. Do you tell every patient to take CoQ10 because statins suppress your ability to produce it? If not why not?

I can’t believe we’re still arguing about statins. It’s all over my timeline. It feels like a religious war. For the vast majority of people, if your LDL is super high, you should probably be on a statin. If you don’t want to be on a statin, there are other solutions (they might not be covered tho). If you don’t want to be on anything, don’t be. It’s a free country, but you’re probably making the wrong decision. If your LDL is high and you’ve done a ton of testing showing that you’re the exception (Lean Mass Hyperresponder)… awesome! You do you. Can we finally end this? I don’t understand why this has become such a big topic.

@SagesBasics @CivicNatalist That is true and that is maintenance after 45-50. If you work a desk job and don’t have kids at home that is your maintenance. Add 100 cal for every hour of solid working activity.

Losing weight for middle aged women doesn't work like that. They have very few calories unless they also do tons of exercise. Everyone wants to make up a story that it's about the donut. No, it's about maintenance being 1100 cals/day without exercise boosts. Stop gaslighting

However as a staff pharmacist at the pharmacy where I have it dispensed, I don’t pay the mark-up and I have a financial assistance card from the drug manufacturer as well (found online and available to all patients).

This trend of skinny influencers using GLP1s like Mounjaro shown here is disgraceful. Shame on the prescribing doctors for abetting cosmetic misuse of a specialised drug.

If a patient wanted weight loss surgery in the UK, they have to undergo intense multidisciplinary workup and psychological assessment. This is important to ensure that the indication is valid, that this is not due to body dysmorphia etc, and for post procedure rehabilitation of eating habits. If a patient wants GLP1s for weight loss, it appears that this can be done in some places with no questions asked. You will know that this drug comes with potential side effects, including harms from malnutrition and eating disorders going unchecked.
