“The Birth of Christ is the eucatastrophe of Man’s history. The Resurrection is the eucatastrophe of the story of the Incarnation. This story begins and ends in joy.”

"The humility in God is more astonishing than His power, and it is harder to grasp the complete self emptying of the divine majesty than the exaltation of the servant’s form in Him." - St Leo the Great

HOLY THURSDAY
Holy Thursday is also known as "Maundy Thursday," the beginning of the Sacred Triduum. The word maundy comes from the Latin word mandatum (commandment) which is the first word of the Gospel acclamation:
Mandátum novum do vobis dicit Dóminus, ut diligátis ínvicem, sicut diléxi vos. "I give you a new commandment: Love one another as I have loved you." (John 13:34)
By meditating on the Gospels (cf. Matt 26:1 ff.; Mark 14:1 ff.; Luke 22:1 ff.; John 13:1 ff.), we recall all of Our Lord’s actions on that first Holy Thursday. They included: 1) the eating of the Easter lamb or the paschal meal; 2) the washing of the disciple's feet; 3) the institution of the Holy Eucharist (the first Holy Mass at which Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest, is the celebrant); the first Communion of the Apostles; the first conferring of Holy Orders); 4) the foretelling of Judas' betrayal and Peter's denials; 5) the farewell discourse and priestly prayer of Jesus; 6) the agony and capture of Jesus in the Garden of Olives.

Pope Benedict XVI message to priests on Holy Thursday in 2006:
“Being a priest means becoming an ever closer friend of Jesus Christ with the whole of our existence. The world needs God - not just any god but the God of Jesus Christ, the God who made Himself flesh and blood, who loved us to the point of dying for us, who rose and created within Himself room for man. This God must live in us and we in him. This is our priestly call: only in this way can our action as priests bear fruit.”

Harvard tracked 724 men for 80 years to figure out what makes you live longer.
They measured everything from income to IQ, and even genetics.
The #1 predictor of an early death? Had nothing to do with any of it...
Here's what they found (thread):

Corrie ten Boom explaining the struggle with hatred she experienced after learning the identity of the man who betrayed her family, causing their imprisonment in concentration camps and the eventual death of four family members:
"When I was in Vught, a concentration camp in Holland...there came a woman from my hometown, and she said, 'Corrie, do you know who had betrayed you?'
I said, 'No.'
And she told it was that man, and there came hatred in my heart. The man I had given my last penny! But I knew that when you hate, you have no forgiveness yourself, and I brought it to the Lord. And I claimed God's love. Romans 5:5 'The love of God is shed abroad into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.'
And I said, 'Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you have brought into my heart God's love through the Holy Spirit, and thank you, Father, that your love in me is stronger than my hatred. And that same moment, the hatred was gone."
