@iatrogenicse Not OCD behaviors really. But Obsessive Thoughts for sure. Obsessive ruminating and intrusive thoughts i cant stop, nonstop. Ever since this all started up with withdrawal. Its insane.

@TakeThiamine "Mitochondrial toxins" I had that exact thought a few days ago. That it feels like what happens to you after the damage is your body's ability to produce and use energy has been completely trashed. Mitochondria being very important to that process. Got my issues from Sertraline

When I post about the dangers of SSRIs on here, I often get angry replies from BlueSky users with ME/CFS. They don’t know that these drugs are mitochondrial toxins with “off-target” effects that mirror ME/CFS pathology. (PMID: 38191373) Victims of the system they defend.

@iatrogenic_harm @DrCamRx Absolutely my experience from the SSRI Sertraline. Its destroyed my cognitive functions, memory, and ability to enjoy entertainment or imagine/create as an artist. All of that has caused OCD like obsessions over the past traumas and the future I can no longer imagine.

informed consent (is almost never given)
@DrCamRx You haven’t. You’ve seen numbing. SSRI can cause OCD. Healing from OCD comes by addressing root causes. Real meds exist for OCD. Psilocybin is a big one, repairing gut & nutrient deficiencies, herbs depending on the root causes, mold rem. Abx, aft, PEX/IVIg. The pills are poison.

People online have zero nuance. I was a psychiatry professor for over a decade. Most mild to moderate cases of depression & anxiety do not warrant an SSRI, and benefit more from therapy, exercise, etc. I’ve also seen patients with severe OCD have their lives changed. Nuance.

@joaniej0243 @TakeThiamine Gastro tried to put me on a Tricyclic for the gastro issues I ended up with from Sertraline. By then Id learned to look into things myself, Dr didnt even tell me what it was, just tried to give me Amitryptiline (I think?). No informed consent, had to do my own research. Criminal.

@TakeThiamine I’m in the camp that ALL serotonergenic drugs need to go. Why just single out SSRIs, when SNRIs are even more harmful and don’t forget the monster of all tricyclics.

@Moonplanter_ @iatrogenicse Same. Its worse when I have work to do etc. Responsibilities are just stress now that raises it all. Walking the dog used to be a treat, now just thinking about it is a stressor that raises the inflammation inside.

One of the worst things about #PSSD #Akathisia is the loss of dreams and ambitions. Things strongly linked to our sense of SELF. Afterall, what are we if not our goals, dreams, and ambitions? Our connections to others, but more importantly our connections to our selves?

@RecallPropecia If I'd been informed about it, Id have 1) never taken them. 2) would have realized what was happening the first time and known it was the drugs and not something else wrong with me. Not informing patients leads to more harm bc patients might get side effects misdx as illnesses

@RecallPropecia "Nocebo" is Pharma and doctors ways to justify ignoring harms and dismissing patient's concerns. The first time I hot genotal numbness from SSRIs it was very subtle. Didnt know it was from them and didnt think too much of it. Until the second time, then I linked it to the SSRIs.

It illustrates demand characteristics like the good experimenter effect. But the best interpretation is that both groups suffered very real side effects from the finasteride they took, the informed group was just more aware. "Nocebo" is mystical nonsense the authors made up.
BIOHACKER.LOOKSMAX@looksmaxxerrr

Sexual side effects were reported by 43.6% in the informed group vs 15.3% in the uninformed group This illustrates what we call the nocebo effect. Simply put, knowing about possible side effects raises the chances of reporting them, although both groups were taking the same drug

I love people with ADHD because they never actually forget anything. You just have to say the right words to activate them like a sleeper cell and then they awaken with all of the knowledge on a very niche subject they studied for 3 months straight 6 years ago.

Constantly feeling alone when surrounded by others. I am tired of battling the thoughts in my head that won’t let me rest. Feeling like the world around me would be lighter without me.

sucks losing friends when you talk about your feelings. when they leave, it amplifies your bad feelings more and you drive your friends away more when you’re upset and talk about it.

@1LeggedBanditVR Cheating is a choice and is inexcusable, there’s no “it just happened”, “it was in the moment” or “it was a mistake” it was a choice you made on your own. I hate people thst try to excuse cheating
