Japan has some beautiful manhole covers, it's an aspect of city architecture I love. I wonder, is it considered rude to step on them? Just looking, it feels like it might be.

Why the hell would I ever go back to American twitter. It was nothing but hell. Every time I logged on I was squaring up for a fight. Japan is full of thoughtful and intelligent people and they also hate Communists. It's a dream come true!

The logical conclusion is that it was hit AS IT WAS EXITING the runway. Was the munition guided to it there? Or have the ability to select targets?

🇸🇦🇺🇸PSAB BDA: The Day After High-res imagery from the morning of Mar 28 gives us a clear look at Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) following the early morning Mar 27 strike. The damage is significant, but the response is baffling. ✈️E-3 Sentry: Wreckage remains in pieces near the runway, with cleanup crews massing to clear the carnage. ✈️KC-135: Wreckage removed (~24-30 hours later), though massive fuel/burn marks remain scarred into the apron. 🛫Eastern Apron: Appears to be another distinct hit here, marked by an outsized fuel/burn radius. 🏢Infrastructure: Substantial damage to the building south of the main apron (contents unknown). Maybe most concerning to me is that even the day after the strike, there are 3x E-3 Sentry & 3x E-2D Hawkeyes (among other airframes) just sitting around😡 Fool me once, shame on you. @mayu_works I have heard of the tradition of writing on plaques! I didn't connect it with the draft horse plaque, but I absolutely love this!!

@Featherprop Long ago, people used to dedicate real horses, but over time, they started offering plaques with horses painted on them instead. At this shrine, they have ema shaped like draft horses.

@Mak0Nakamura I think it's partly wanting to make a good impression, but also many of us genuinely like what we know of Japan and want to believe the good we see is embodied in everyone from there we talk to. We assume good intent, and it's been so much fun to find it's true!

@kine_miyabi I had always thought most Japanese horses were smaller framed, so it's a little surprising to see draft horses here! They look amazing with the decorated livery, and everyone walking with them too! I would love to visit this festival in the future!!

@Koushou_F @KathrynJpn I have seen that! I can see the tension and discomfort in those horses when crowded or not respected, and the relaxation when visitors act with respect that a horse can see as being non-threatening!

@KathrynJpn あれは態度を見てると思います。 日本人はよく遠慮がちに頭を下げて近づきますが、あれは馬の間でも「私はあなたの側に寄っても危害を加えません」というボディランゲージになります。また、馬のパーソナルスペースを守る人には馬も攻撃しませんので、近づきすぎないのが1番です。

馬は鼻が良い。体臭や汗、💩の残り香で相手の感情までわかるほどだそう。 私が超お腹痛くて、トイレ行きたいのに馬が全然馬房に入ってくれないことがあった。 私はイライラしてたけど根気よく待ってた。でも限界がきて、ﾌﾟｽｰ…おならしちゃった。 そしたら馬、何を感じ取ったのかこちらを見て、↓
