You have my support Danubi. It's sad that Nuckels uses his authority as a TO to solve private conflicts. Some TOs really need to learn to separate their private lives from their lives within the community. The community doesn't seem to learn from its mistakes...

Also wanted to say Maybe some people love Melee more than me (they don’t). But I don’t think anyone loves the Melee community more than me I've been around this game and community for quite literally my entire life. I’ve met passionate community members from different eras, and from different corners of the world. I think the most tragic thing about Melee is that people who look at us from afar or from online don’t know what they are missing. I encourage people to go to Melee events if they can. While I understand the significance of attending majors, people tend to overlook the importance of supporting locals and regionals. IMO these smaller-scale events are even more integral to building a connected community. The social/community aspect of Melee is what has gotten us so far. Hiding behind a screen at home will never compare to making a connection with someone face to face.

Though I think the dogpiling on Mang0 is justified for many reasons, I genuinely can imagine a world where not only does he stop drinking, but becomes an advocate for women in the scene. He could fund travel for women who compete, help run a Smash Sisters bracket, and create a safe space where his following doesn’t echo the cringe things he’s said in the past. He could add value to the scene in a way that goes beyond just fixing his own liver. Also, and I don’t want to speak for the women who went through this...but seriously, having their images all over the internet while they’re clearly uncomfortable? That doesn’t sit right. Stop making this about Melee dying. Stop making it about Mang0 getting better. Make it about the victims, about how to prevent this in the future, and how to actually make things better.
