A Mom in Tulsa called 3 health systems last week asking the price of her son's tonsillectomy. Health system A: "We cannot quote you a price." Health system B: "Pricing depends on your insurance." Health system C: "Our financial counselor will reach out after the procedure." No other industry in America gets to operate this way. Imagine ordering at a restaurant and getting the bill six weeks after dinner.

If that addict on your street were your own son, what would you do? That is the defining question that guides my 5 step plan to fix the homelessness problem in LA. We *must* end this evil racket of corrupt politicians and NGOs who profit off the misery of these poor souls. They launder money and feed them more drugs, so they can keep their customers locked in this hell on our streets. We have a moral obligation from God to help them and make our city safe and clean for everyone. Karen Bass and Nithya Raman have forsaken this city. Time for real leadership. Time for real compassion.

When I hear confessions, I often think of a story I heard back in the 7th Grade, in my Texas History class. There was a group of Spanish Explorers led by Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, who after a failed expedition in Florida, and the loss of their ships due to tropical storms, attempted to sail by rafts to Mexico. They finally landed on Galveston Island. At that time, Galveston was inhabited by the Karankawa Indians, who engaged in ritual cannibalism, and were a very fierce tribe, but when these men washed ashore, they were so pitiful, that the Karankawa wept with them on the beach. Most people are able to keep an outward exterior of having everything together, but most of us are like those pitiful Spaniards on the inside. And if we could see their struggles, we would weep with them too. That is why we should be charitable when dealing with other people, because we don't know their struggles, and when we encounter unpleasant people, we should keep in mind that if we had been through what they have been through, we might be as bad or worse.

No, they’re mad that they’re taxed at the same rate as childless people despite the fact that they’re upholding they’re societal obligations and childless people are absconding their societal duty while reaping the unjust rewards of such, and squandering it on frivolities.

I am a childless person who actually really likes and tolerates children well (probably for being a teacher for so long), but all the parents in the comments and QTs sound genuinely bitter and jealous. If your life is fuller with kids, you don’t generally get mad at childless people have their own thing going on.. right ? So weird.

@WhiskeySlvrBall The “tax breaks” are the child tax credit which is ~ 2,200 per child. That barely covers 4-5 months of health insurance worth of relief. We aren’t talking about single moms on welfare here. We’re talking about tax breaks for middle class families.
