Soooooooo I'm probably going to start streaming again this weekend and I'm going to turn my monetization into a fund for some of those that got laid off from @EpicGames. Not everyone needs the financial help but I know a few really could. If anyone could help share this thanks

My dream Fortnite Festival season is a Weird Al one and the Music Pass is just his parodies of previous Festival headliners.

@window7021 @KiriBuilds Both are huge deals in their respect. Fortnite's potential as a platform to advertise external people and products is definitely not undersold. Many people and companies are willing to pay themselves to appear in there, instead of Epic making them the offer.

I’ve seen a lot of posts echo chambering the misguided sentiment that “UEFN needs to be shut down” “map creators need to stop being paid” “UEFN caused the layoffs”, etc. I want to clear up that misconception, because all it’s doing is just causing infighting in the community:

Day 1 of life post Epic: I can't stop crying. I can't eat. Everything feels like a cope. Gonna paint a Peely with angel wings later cause that sounds funny in a morbid way. I'll post pics once it's finished.

I wasn't impacted, but I was left speechless. Its so disheartening to lose such pivotal people at epic. Love goes out to those who were impacted.

To my former coworkers impacted by today’s Epic Games layoffs: you are incredibly talented, and any team would be lucky to have you. I know this firsthand. I was part of the 2023 layoffs, so I know how disorienting, painful, and unfair this kind of day can feel. If you’re in shock, angry, numb, heartbroken, or all of the above, you are not alone. This is not a reflection of your talent, your work, or your worth. Some of the most brilliant, hardworking, thoughtful people I’ve ever worked with were at Epic. Truly. These are people who care deeply, build at an incredibly high level, and show up for their teams again and again. To those impacted today, I am so sorry. The industry is losing some absolutely incredible people, and I hate that this keeps happening. To everyone hiring, please take a serious look at the folks coming out of Epic right now. There is so much talent, experience, and heart in this group. And to everyone affected, I mean this with my whole chest any place would be lucky to have you. 💜

A lot of sorrys today, hearing about how talented we all are, how thankful people are. All of it is really supportive. The thing I'm hating is people saying they can't wait to see what I do next... I already was doing what I wanted. I don't want another job. I wanted my job.. <3

@Syodoodle @TactFNC In theory they already do. There just isn't a template but all the individual assets are there.

@TactFNC I think the best play is for Epic to ensure that all creators have the proper tools to make their own ballistic games, and maybe even make the maps templates

I love JOGO and all, heck I used to work there and the team are great. I have nothing but respect for everyone there. But I have to disagree. Personally speaking, not one team or studio should own Ballistic. What about other people wanting to keep the mode alive?

Rough day. Thanks for all the kind thoughts and mentions. I want to say that since my arrival on the Fortnite team, the game’s story community has been nothing but stellar towards me. You all made me feel very welcome. It was fun being part of an amazing team of storytellers.

today has been a whirlwind of emotions. thank you, genuinely, to everyone that’s reached out to me today (a former coworker even sent me a milkshake). i’m still going through them all (and will continue to do so). reading how much you all appreciate my work has been so surprising and uplifting on such a shitty day. i’m really, really going to miss making cool stuff happen for our players. that was the guiding principle behind everything i ever did. seeing how many of my former colleagues are as confused as i am about my departure is definitely validating too. i’m very grateful (and thankful) to also already have many studio leads and recruiters reaching out about roles they’d like me for. i’m gonna go grab a beer and watch the rest of the canes game. 💚🦖

hey. end of day and I've had some time to process. it's been a brutal day at epic today, and I'm absolutely devastated by the loss of some of the most insanely bright and talented people I've ever had the honor to work with or even just around.

@TheDisquse @__silent_ Your co-workers can be friends or family. And you could consider the company to be such, as an umbrella term to indicate all your co-workers. But you're right. The company itself, especially personified by the higher-ups, is never your friend.

@__silent_ Just a reminder that a corporation is NEVER your "friend" or "family" as they love to pretend. Managers will gladly fire you to improve the numbers, even if it only makes things look good for a week. They don't care about you, your family, or your well-being.

It's comical how short-sighted gaming layoffs can be sometimes. I guess they don't really care about the performance of their product or long-term impacts, only need to get that positive cashflow number at the end of the next month.

Day two, I'm starting to feel more confident in Screamer. What a finish

I was part of the Epic layoffs today. I worked as a Art Outsource Lead overseeing Fortnite Lego minifigs. I worked on everything from K-Pop DH, to huge streamers and minifigs for the latest Superman movies. If you’re looking for a Outsource Lead, Lead Or Char artist let me know!
