Safety and meaningful support should be a certainty for every person. In Moldova, people at risk of trafficking are being identified earlier and receiving assistance faster and in a more coordinated way thanks to @StateDept and @UNmigration.

🇲🇩🇵🇱 Great pleasure meeting Sebastian Gajewski, Polish Deputy Minister of Family, Labour & Social Policy, on the sidelines of High-Level Ministerial Conference on the European Social Charter. We discussed EU acquis alignment, social security & integrating displaced Ukrainians.

In 2026, the National Employment Agency scaled up its budget for active labour market measures 4x --expanding internships, skills training, and employer subsidies. Our goal: reach more young people, especially those who need opportunities the most.

A key example in Moldova: piloting the European Youth Guarantee for Roma youth (2024–2025) in Chisinau through EU4Youth. This brought together public institutions, education, and Roma civil society organizations that improved access to information & jobs to Roma youth.

Honored to join the panel “Roma and the Future of Work – a Social Rights Perspective,” opened by President Maia Sandu and SG Alain Berset, at the Ministerial High-Level Conference on the European Social Charter. We discussed how to build more inclusive pathways to decent work.

The Salvia Shelter was opened with the support of @UNFPA Moldova and @UNFPA Ukraine, with financial support from @_Government_UK, and in partnership with AO Homecare, to whom we extend our sincere thanks.

Salvia shelter has a capacity of 15 places and provides: ✔️ protection and safe accommodation ✔️ psychological assistance ✔️ emergency legal assistance ✔️ support for women and children affected by violence, including women refugees from Ukraine. #GBV #domesticviolence #shelter

Ministry of Labour and Social Protection🇲🇩 opens a new shelter for survivors of domestic violence Salvia in Ștefan Vodă. Here every woman will be seen, every child will be protected, and every story will be met with empathy and care.

🤝 Met with Pilvi Torsti, Executive Director of the European Training Foundation, to discuss Moldova’s next steps toward EU accession, including recognition of professional experience & integration into the EURES network.
