Every time I step into Walmart I lose a little more faith… Why are people out here shopping in full sleep mode? Pajamas, slippers, hair looking like they fought a tornado and lost. Did nobody think, “maybe I should actually get dressed before going out in public”? I’m not asking for anything fancy — just basic effort. The bar is literally on the floor and people are still crawling under it. It’s not just lazy, it’s straight up embarrassing.

@WorkElizab Much of our behaviour is learned, so yes, schools should model good manners etc, but so should homes .. and you have a few years at home before school becomes a factor.

The National Living Wage is right now, £12.21 per hour. In a 35 hour week you will earn £427.35 so in a year it’s £22,222 Presumably they call it a living wage because that gives you enough to live on. A pensioner gets £10,000 less than that. Greedy blighters.

@LaindonFEMINIST I work for a food share in my local area. The numbers of households using it have nearly doubled over the last year.

Still irritated by THAT documentary. What got up my nose was interviewing a food bank worker who said things were getting worse. When Trussell Trust say that nationally there’s been an 8% decline in use of food banks. It’s not right to tilt a narrative.

@RulesVagina If they were only feet from your bed, surely you could have asked 1 - what procedures have you had and why, and 2 - please could they have their chat elsewhere so that you could try to sleep ?

What was your worst night as a patient in hospital? Mines… Waking up in ITU post nephrectomy with no clue why I was there. Not a single person came near me all night except to take a cursory look at the electronics I was attached to. I had a central line. They talked and laughed the whole night, feet from my bed. I went home with a pressure sore. I was a midwife, 33 yo and otherwise fit. Now imagine an elderly, confused patient in the same situation. My heart bleeds for them.

British schools are now closing for Eid. SPOILER: Eid is not a British holiday. Eid is not a British religious festival. Eid is not a British statutory holiday. We are being colonised. Afghanistan wouldn’t give the day off for Easter. Syria wouldn’t close schools for Passover. No other religion waltzes into another country and expects to be treated as if they are the majority. And no other religion is expected to roll over and take it… except Christians. Freedom to practice your religion ≠ Freedom to force it on others. The national religion of Britain is Christianity. Muslims do not get special treatment in Britain over other minority religions. And they certainly don’t get to colonise our culture with theirs. Britain is a Christian nation. You immigrate here, you integrate.
