The problem with showing the Backrooms movie from Async's perspective is you'd have to exposition dump right at the beginning to explain what the scientists are doing, ruining the mystery. I think that a psych patient finding a semi-stable opening is a great trade off.

While the whole point of the backrooms is that liminal space uneasiness (having humans kind of takes away a lot of the point) This looks a lot better than I was expecting.
