I mean why not? He’s been in the system for 4 years now and has improved every year since being drafted. Who else would you rather have to back up if Jimmy G is gone?? Bennett has earned the opportunity to compete for that back up spot and even the starting position after Stafford retires.

@ProFootballTalk @NYR1579 Where was McCauley when the Rams touchdown was negated by a bad "ineligible man downfield" penalty at the one yard line? He actually said it was wrong on the air too but apparently couldn't find his cell phone in that instance.

@ProFootballTalk What Florio forgets with his "if you see a ball, pick it up" coaching point is that players from the time they're old enough to pick up a ball, are coached to "play to the whistle". Not "play until the ball is picked up after the whistle".
