Nigeria stands out, with the highest ownership rates for both USDT (59%) and USDC (48%), far exceeding the global sample. In the report, Nigeria boasts 87% current or recent stablecoin ownership among respondents, the highest of any country, and 80% intent to acquire more. Africa as a region leads globally at 79% ownership, but Nigeria drives this, with 92% of users citing the country's economic situation as a key influence. This positions Nigeria as a league of its own, where stablecoins aren't optional but essential for dollar-denominated savings amid daily currency erosion. If you're building a global stablecoin business, and Nigerian isn't part of your expansion strategy, you're clearly mistaken.
