Just tried FSR Upscaling 4.1 in a few PC games. It’s based on the same neural network as the upgraded PSSR we released for PS5 Pro… and it looks stunning!
Wonderful working with @jackhuynh and the @AMD team as we collaborate on AI graphics tech. Big win for Project Amethyst :-)

@Fendera_ @MAmirAmriZainu1 @AskPlayStation Totally true, I recommend a CRT to get an improved experience

@manuzark @MAmirAmriZainu1 @AskPlayStation Doesn't have HDMI, but I will someday when I buy a CRT again.
English

@thematrixwatch @AskPlayStation Stock software, but replaced thermal paste, delidded the cpu, new thermal pads, additional ventilation holes at the bottom.
English

@ssa207662 @AskPlayStation The PS5 also pulls air from the front right side. I can feel the air flow when I put my hands in front of it. Behind there is enough space and also the cabinet is completely open on the back. During gameplay the PS5s fan doesn't run loud.
English

@Fendera_ @AskPlayStation Bro the place of the Ps5 is very wrong, the sides are important so the device can breathe
English

@chalkfist Maybe there's a chance that PSSR 1.0 was also improved with the latest firmware update? I should test more games with and without the toggle to be sure. I mostly focused on PSSR 2.0 with my tests. I could ask around in the Digital Foundry discord, those guys probably know more.
English

@Fendera_ Not that I've seen, no. The game still has issues with lighting indoor areas, some geometry flashing when panning the camera quickly, and some lumen bubbling artefacts. As well as aliasing on thin reflective surfaces like handrails. A native patch would be welcome.

@chalkfist I wish we had more information. Sony was super vague in their blog post regarding the updates. Time will tell. I would love to see a native patch, especially the performance mode with PSSR 2.0
English

@AndreasLmsland @dkcoooh6odiy @AskPlayStation I can't blame you, those are beautiful. They take up so much space though.
English

@AndreasLmsland @dkcoooh6odiy @AskPlayStation I need to buy a CRT again at some point. I grew up with this stuff, but as time went on, everyone threw their CRTs out. I wish we didn’t lol.
English

@Fendera_ @dkcoooh6odiy @AskPlayStation My PS5 has been collecting dust for a year, but my PS3 is my main watching movies and youtube on my CRTs machine.
English

@thematrixwatch @AskPlayStation This is my PS2 machine :) I only play PS2 games on this fat PS3.
English

@Fendera_ @AskPlayStation Great to see a PS2 compatible system
English

@AndreasLmsland @dkcoooh6odiy @AskPlayStation It used to be this way lol. Nowadays I use my PS5 most of the time.
English

@soulsph3re @AskPlayStation I know what you mean. I use the fat one only for PS2 games, and the slim for PS3 games. When I play on the fat PS3, I move it more to the left and a little to the front, so the air has enough space to exhaust. Also, the back is completely open of the cabinet, hot air can escape.
English

@Fendera_ @AskPlayStation Placing my original fat ps3 in a small space in the tv cabinet like that is exactly how I got a yellow light of death 3 years later, had to get another og fat ps3 on ebay in 2009 to be able to play my ps2 games again. Now I leave my fat ps3 out with as much air as possible
English

@dkcoooh6odiy @AskPlayStation The PS5 Pro is totally fine in there. The air intake is mostly coming from the front and a little from the right side. Behind there is more than enough space and also the back is completely open. The PS5 is running quiet most of the time during gameplay.
English

@Fendera_ @AskPlayStation Your PS3 may not be suffocating, but that PS5 definitely WILL be. There are cooling vents on the bottom, top, and back of the system.
If you ever get random shutoffs for seemingly no reason, that's why.
English

@MAmirAmriZainu1 @AskPlayStation Yes, it's the PS2 backwards compatible model.
English

@Fendera_ @AskPlayStation Is that the og version? The one that can play ps2 disc
