@JMako67 @Onepeg bc in most games it doesn't matter: you either respawn almost instantly (like a resurgence in warzone) or next round and w/a BR you die full but don't really lose anything, you just go next in extraction shooters based around movement you lose gear & it's the economy of the game

@Average_Jonas @redfury545 the devs already have addressed it and said it will be patched out in the next patch. (not only thief exploit but also with the equipment like ammo packs or the destroyer cancel tech) so yeah bungie knows it does not belong in this game, marathon is not destiny

Maybe this is a hot take but I’m tired of people using the word “tech” to normalize abusing exploits in a game to get an unintentional advantage. Marathon is a slow game by default, the heat system is in place so ur not perma sliding around like in Apex and that’s what the game is balanced around as well. Positioning is key and getting caught in the open can make u lose your loadout which is part of what makes the game really thrilling. Having a get out of jail free card with Thief’s drone cancel stuff is not cool or interesting, it’s an exploit.

I feel like this is overly punishing for people engaging in ranked as their priority, as well as anyone who works weekends who might not have time to ever try cryo archive, let alone anyone who just has prior obligations already planned out? It seems like an odd decision to me and I assume many others

@Onepeg as an aside, this game is weirdly optimized. it is very cpu heavy to the point it refused to use my GPU basically and made my CPU spin at incredibly high temps i usually put things on low for competitive visibility but i had to UP my settings to LOWER my cpu usage very weird

while most people are glad this is getting fixed, i feel like people who want it to remain in the game all seem like destiny players who are still in the mindset of pve raiding/arena pvp (in which this "tech" would be cool) but it's very obvious why this can't exist in marathon

@Gamesager in the concept of PVE raiding or pvp arena like in destiny this is fine and very cool. in the concept of relative slow extraction shooter where the slowness is there to balance the shells powers around it and you can lose gear, this is gamebreaking and needs to go asap

@PandemD2 @sunshineking95 @nava94_ except there are already other ways to do it w/o costing heat (equipment) it's so obviously an oversight somewhere in the engine aka exploit aka it needs to be removed bc it's starting to make the concept of shells completely obsolete (in raids where people are using it)

@sompostmdrnshit @nava94_ this is not iterative play lmao. you are using an exploit/malfunction in the engine to infinitely no cd trigger a ability to perform constant movement if i'm being extremely generous, iterative would be doing the tech but getting cooldown on the ability used to trigger it

what looked initially (to me 2, i'm not going to act like i knew this) like a stalemate ended up just being a strat from segaert to tire out PSH. segaert is an ITT rider & had slight draft, he could control him while PSH completely emptied himself. alec just rode tempo 10/10
