@BeansRobson I ain't changing my accent to fit in with whatever perception a random person might have of me. If it's a service they are rendering me, that means l am paying and if they default on that then the buck stops with them.

The Zimbabwean accent in a foreign land is almost a class signal. Lose it and you may get better service. Keep it and you get assumptions. Some of us code-switch without thinking. That adaptation is survival, not shame. Answer yourself honestly. Do you modify your accent or how you present yourself to avoid being identified as Zimbabwean in a foreign land? I say, there is a dignity question buried deep in the accent conversation. The day you stop changing your voice is the day you decide your origin is not something to manage. Most of us haven't reached that day yet.

AFRICAN MEN: THEIR OBSESSION WITH EUROPEAN FOOTBALL This post isn't to say people shouldn't watch sports, to be more specific football. But it's to condemn the unhealthy obsession many African men have with football To be more precise European football, it would be least embarrassing if they were obsessed with their own football leagues Fooball is great as entertainment, it should remain that. No man with a fulfilling life should have his mood ruined by other men losing at something they are paid for If you observe, the average African man invests more emotion into European football than he invests in his own country's state of affairs or continent's state They'll be more angry at a player for changing a club, getting injured, failing to score etc than they'll be at their local politicians who steal their taxes and loot their resources They'll know a player's stats and historiy more than they know their local politicians stats or history. They'll analyse patterns of football teams more than they analyse their own lives Do you honestly think a man who is in control of his life and doing well in life will have time to be affected his mood because of football or any other sport? You're a loser if you spend much of your time watching other men make money and even get affected by it, whilst you're not doing anything productive with your life Find purpose, stop masking a lack of direction with being a football fanatic

Can I just let everyone know that my biggest disappointments and mistake are not Trump or CCC. My biggest is my life long supporting Arsenal. Arsenal has caused me far more BP health issues and disappointment. I love you Arsenal. But you always disappoint me.

🚨Guillem Balague has said it perfectly… absolutely spot on. Two things bother me about the narrative building around Arsenal. First, we're told constantly that the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world. Fine. So what does it mean to be consistently fighting for the title in that environment? You can't celebrate the league's brutal competitiveness and then dismiss sustained title challenges as not good enough. Pick one. Second, and in my opinion this matters more, failure in elite sport is not losing. Luis Enrique said it. Many others have said versions of it. Failure is not trying again. It's accepting the ceiling. It's going through the motions. Arteta has never done that. Every setback has been fuel for the next attempt. The problem is social media runs on binary outcomes. Win or fail. Hero or fraud. No room for nuance. No room for the manager who rebuilt a club into genuine title contenders and is still hungry for more. Simeone has been at Atlético for over a decade. Two league titles, two Champions League finals. Still no European Cup. Nobody serious calls that failure. They call it one of the great managerial tenures in modern football. And I'm convinced that given 14 years like Simeone, Mikel will win more leagues than him. Arteta may or may not win the league this year. He may not lift the Champions League this year or next. But as long as he keeps pushing, keeps trying, keeps competing at this level, failure isn't what this is. Find another name for it.

🎙️🗣️| Roy Keane on Chelsea defeat to Manchester City “This match isn’t just about Chelsea—it’s a potential title decider, and as expected, City did exactly what everyone anticipated. Arsenal bottling the league has almost become routine, but it’s even more ironic when you realize it’s Guardiola himself schooling his own protégé. Maybe it’s time he goes back to learn more about coaching—or just joins us as a pundit.”

Another tip for the gents, no matter how much luggage you travel with, don’t buy a wheeled suitcase, get a duffel bag and a back pack, if there’s more luggage get two duffel bags. Carry your luggage instead of pushing it, stand in that long queue at the airport with all bags on you, this is great for your full body strength. Always maximise on getting stronger, ALWAYS!!!

Gyokeres’s aura and motion are just insane. This tweet is full of people from different parts of the world, in different languages, glazing him. He has an incredible global movement, no other Arsenal player comes close to this level of global influence. This isn’t a player you pick fights with, because you won’t win.

We met in the most unserious way possible. I was already having a bad day, running late, mentally arguing with myself, when this man had the audacity to bump into me and not even apologize properly. Not a real apology. One of those “sorry” with vibes of “but it’s lowkey your fault.” So obviously, I did what any sane person would do… I dragged him. And instead of being normal and leaving, he stayed. Arguing back. Matching my energy. Smiling like this was somehow… entertaining?? From that moment, I decided he was my enemy. We kept “randomly” running into each other after that. Same café. Same street. Same annoying face. Always something to argue about coffee orders, music, who bumped into who first (still him, by the way). Weeks turned into this ridiculous routine of arguing, eyerolls, and “coincidental” meetings that felt less coincidental every time. Then one day, it rained. Like, serious rain. Lagos did its thing. I was stuck, annoyed, already preparing to suffer home, and guess who appeared… umbrella in hand, looking entirely too pleased with himself. He didn’t even say anything at first. Just stood beside me and tilted the umbrella slightly so it covered me too. I said, “Don’t think this changes anything.” He said, “Of course not. You still owe me an apology.” I almost pushed him into the rain. But I didn’t move away either. We walked like that… arguing quietly under one umbrella, stepping over puddles, pretending we didn’t both notice how easy it suddenly felt. Somewhere between “you’re annoying” and “text me when you get home,” things… shifted. And now? Now this same man that I couldn’t stand is the one I call when my day goes wrong, the one who knows exactly how I take my coffee, and the only person allowed to annoy me on a daily basis. Still my enemy, by the way. Just… my favorite one.

A man who is 15 years older than me has been messaging me for a few weeks. I initially politely declined his interest in “getting to know each other,” and have not been replying to any of his messages since. Today he sent me this message: “I need to teach you that the virtue of an intelligent woman is to listen when a man of substance is speaking .” 🚩 He might as well put up a billboard that says he is a controlling narcissist.

It’s so clear Jay-Z wants to be positioned as a Miles Davis, Basquiat-like Black genius figure but… 😬 The catalogue & legacy just don’t rise to that level if we’re honest His legacy is more about being a businessman than an artist & his ability to earn money beyond rapping As far as cultural impact, there’s just not the same longevity there & that’s reflected in the discussion happening now Outside of this orchestrated press tour, who was thinking of it being 30 years since Reasonable Doubt or how it relates to 2026? Who felt like it’s been a long time since we’ve seen or heard from Jay-Z? That’s why it’s out of sync with the times & the vibes right now

@FootballEra_ He has never been clinical. It was obvious that the gk was going to dive on the ground to narrow the angle. All he had to do was chip it or even square it. He chose to shoot just for the sake of it.

Goals change games, we’d be looking at this match in a completely different light if Havertz had scored that earlier chance. I still can’t believe he missed it.
