This is awesome, Elon has a has a fully autonomous floor cleaner at Giga Texas.

BREAKING: Tesla delivered 358,023 vehicles in Q1, up 6% YoY. Wall Street was expecting 365,600. Total Q1 production was 408,386 Tesla also says that they deployed 8.8GWh of energy storage in Q1 2026.

Robotaxi rides without any safety monitors are now publicly available in Austin. Starting with a few unsupervised vehicles mixed in with the broader robotaxi fleet with safety monitors, and the ratio will increase over time.

@tavi_chocochip 2/3 But the bigger problem is this: Most car accidents are caused by poor human vision due to darkness, bad weather, sun glare, blind spots, not seeing... so instead of eliminating the biggest flaw of human drivers... doubling down on it with vision only is just stupid.

Tesla reports another 'Robotaxi' crash, still only has a single unsupervised car electrek.co/2026/03/16/tes… by @fredlambert

The Self-Driving Car Problem isn’t a Sensor Problem, it's a Brain Problem.

@niccruzpatane Wrong. "Vision only" is an ADAS L2 dead end. The $TSLA robotaxi fleet in Austin is proving that every day. Even the few "unsupervised" cars in a tiny geofenced and lidar-pre-mapped area are getting taken off the road. A total disaster. No software update can fix that.

@tavi_chocochip 3/3 And that is the reason why no legacy car company is working with $TSLA or licensing FSD tech. On the contrary, the engineers there joke about vision only... just like the engineers at Tesla as long as Elon is not in the room... Elon fires engineers who criticize vision only.
