🧵 THREAD: What truly sucks about being a $TSLA skeptic/bear is that you can spend literally hundreds of hrs building detailed delivery models, triangulating regional registration data, parsing supplier checks, & modeling qtrly earnings — get the fundamental call exactly right — & watch the stock drop 5-10% on the print. Victory, right? Hold that thought. (1/16)

@TheBronxViking Quite strange that a floor cleaner needs a lidar, but a car driving humans around will be okay with just cameras...

@TeslaXplored Didn't you watch Elon's latest presentation? Cars and energy don't matter. Robotaxis don't matter either. $TSLA is now an intergalactic AI chip company with Optimus robots building data centers in space powered by solar energy. TSMC and Boston Dynamics are shitting their pants!

@Riddick76365454 @TonySeverinoCMT @POLO_ADDICT Those fair value models already came close to being invalidated during the bull market, there is no reason to assume that the bear market will not finally and clearly invalidate them.

@FictionJohnny @TonySeverinoCMT @POLO_ADDICT I respectfully disagree. As price did not move above fair value as a percentage as much as last cycles, the draw down IMO will be less than last cycles. Time will tell 😉

@TonySeverinoCMT @POLO_ADDICT You are right. Just because the bull market was "bearish" and the relative price didn't go as high as in previous cycles, doesn't mean that the bear market will be "bullish"... Quite the opposite, it will be extra bearish. Many altcoins are already under their 2022 lows...

Always a possibility But let's be real. We already dropped 50% in a few months Another 50% will take us to around 70% and that's around my targets This is all business as usual despite the diminished upside Eventually everyone will realize this isn't just diminished volatility, it is diminished momentum Bitcoin is running out of steam to the upside on the highest timeframes. The upside was muted as a result The downside could actually pick up in momentum as things roll over cyclically on the larger degrees People might finally understand my thesis more clearly - this is what's going to happen. IMO

@TeslaXplored It's not the software. The hardware is not ready. Vision only is an ADAS L2 dead end.

Two full months later and ZERO progress. If you’re a $TSLA investor, do you think this is normal and they’re just being cautious or this is worrisome and the software is not ready? Which would mean a delay in CyberCab production!! Not good!

Robotaxi rides without any safety monitors are now publicly available in Austin. Starting with a few unsupervised vehicles mixed in with the broader robotaxi fleet with safety monitors, and the ratio will increase over time.

@squawksquare You are not up to date. $TSLA is now an intergalactic AI chip company with Optimus robots building data centers in space powered by solar energy. While none of that exists yet, science fiction movies say that it will happen. And they are always right. Right?

$TSLA is a robot company, not a car company. $TSLA is an autonomous company. Number of robots sold = ZERO Number of Robotaxis = 2020 Goal (1 Million), 2026 Actual (400)

@MilbournZack @niccruzpatane You are basically saying that the system should remain flawed, but with more flaws. x.com/i/status/20164…
Johnny@FictionJohnny

@tavi_chocochip 2/3 But the bigger problem is this: Most car accidents are caused by poor human vision due to darkness, bad weather, sun glare, blind spots, not seeing... so instead of eliminating the biggest flaw of human drivers... doubling down on it with vision only is just stupid.

@FictionJohnny @niccruzpatane 99.99999% of vehicles on the road today (and through all of automotive history) have been operated with “vision only”. Ayrton Senna drove on “vision only”. Was Ayrton Senna actually a L2 driving aid?

@ssg10 @ElectrekCo @FredLambert And it's probably at least remotely heavily supervised with a kill switch operator, otherwise there is no reason why it should be just one car.

@FictionJohnny @tavi_chocochip You just made this up and you're completely, 100% wrong. The 3 top causes of car accidents are: 1. Distracted driving 2. Speeding 3. Drunk/impaired driving Btw, FSD sees better than humans in all the situations you just mentioned: darkness, weather, glare, and blind spots.

It should by now be obvious to everyone that the Unsupervised Robotaxi rides were a one-day demo event intended solely to keep the narrative going. Just like those videos from Tesla engineers in December. They’re not ready for Unsupervised rides yet. Possibly, they may not be able to do it before v.15. Won’t stop them acting as if they’ve achieved that milestone during Earnings this evening tho.

@cicohipe @hamids You are now projecting and coping really hard. The only people who are moving goalposts are the $TSLA fans who went from "millions of robotaxis worldwide via OTA software updates overnight" many years ago to being ecstatic over a tiny geofenced and lidar-pre-mapped joke in Austin

@cicohipe @hamids You really want to portray few "unsupervised" cars in a tiny geofenced and lidar-pre-mapped area that are only operating during certain day times and only during certain weather conditions as a success? After years of utopian promises? That's is a total disaster.

@niccruzpatane Wrong. "Vision only" is an ADAS L2 dead end. The $TSLA robotaxi fleet in Austin is proving that every day. Even the few "unsupervised" cars in a tiny geofenced and lidar-pre-mapped area are getting taken off the road. A total disaster. No software update can fix that.

@niccruzpatane @GregBellini66 The reason why Waymo has achieved L4 a long time ago while $TSLA is still stuck at L2 is not that Waymo has better software or data... It's a stupid hardware limitation (no radar and lidar) that can't be fixed with software updates. You will see. x.com/i/status/20164…
Johnny@FictionJohnny

@tavi_chocochip 3/3 And that is the reason why no legacy car company is working with $TSLA or licensing FSD tech. On the contrary, the engineers there joke about vision only... just like the engineers at Tesla as long as Elon is not in the room... Elon fires engineers who criticize vision only.
