Nobody can make the LDS Church look so bad quite like its leaders can.

@Kintsugijin @planetJoseph Smith also married multiple kids and women behind their husbands backs... great guy. Also made an awful attempt at running for president like you said. Definitely not trying to grab power at all 👍

You do realize that Joseph Smith was the first US presidential candidate to run on abolishing slavery? Historically, Catholic popes issued papal bulls endorsing slavery, which creates tension now that a pope is issuing an apology for them. How is that reconciled theologically I wonder. The LDS church has disavowed the priesthood ban on black people and all are welcomed in fellowship regardless of race as they come unto Christ. youtu.be/8GDXMlArDh4?si…

@ImFreePop @ryanburge I mean practicing for most evangelicals is going to a mega church so is that really practicing anything? This is also disproven by the fact that so many evangelicals literally worship Trump and the ground he walks on despite his anti-Christian values.

73% of white Catholics who attend Mass multiple times per week identify as Republicans 72% of white evangelicals who report that they "seldom" attend church services identify as Republicans.

So how long did the people in the Americas go without something necessary for salvation? 🤨
The Ecclesiac@TheEcclesiac

@ThoughtfulSaint @Protestia Well this would be at least the Catholic position. God would not allow His Church to go without something necessary for salvation for so long. That was kind of the promise of the Gospel, that now salvation is available to men (obviously not the only promise of the gospel.)

Someone needs to explain the ex-Mormon attitude toward Catholicism to me. Every ex-Mormon or liberal Mormon I’ve met has the image of Catholicism as a liberal church. Meanwhile, ex-evangelicals I’ve met tend to view Catholicism as a repressive cult. Someone explain this.

@HowieAlabama @whpub You can't bless sinners? Another classic case of protestants have zero understanding of the Bible despite claiming to read it backward and forward.

In Roman Catholicism, you can use your fallible private interpretation to argue for why an ecumenical council was not ecumenical, why a formal excommunication was not valid, why an official canonization was not legitimate, why a papal statement was not really ex cathedra, why an unpublished papal decree can supersede a published papal statement or council, why a regional provincial council counts as ecumenical, why an apparition of Mary can add to the deposit of faith and help us understand apostolic tradition, why an infallible statement can be immoral but still infallibly true, why an ancient tradition is invalid while a late breaking tradition is apostolic, and why losing track of an oral apostolic tradition is proof of apostolicity. All while claiming to submit unreservedly to the magisterium.🤣😂

@DVerit38142 In my book Infiltration I give the argument for how and why the excommunication was not valid.

If the average protestant critique tried to go to even 3 liturgies they would quickly abandon the notion that Orthodoxy is a fad.

@ChristandGuitar I know Protestants hate to hear this but God's plan likely isn't for the terrible ways of Ancient Israel to be the same as his One True Church on Earth that He established...

Both Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox claim to be the "one true Church" with apostolic succession on their side. Both ask: "Would the Holy Spirit allow the Church to fall into error for 1500 years?" My answer: Yeah, I think He would - Just the same as Israel was allowed to fall into error time and time again. The fact that the 2 split in 1054 and both claim exclusive fidelity to the apostles means, logically, at least one of them has been wrong for nearly 1,000 years. They can't both be right. This should motivate Protestants to dig into Scripture and church history. One (or both) of these institutions has error on important points. Scripture, being God's Word, is our anchor for everything. This is not the strawman of "every Christian for 1500 years went to hell before Martin Luther came along." Christ has always saved His people by grace through faith - even when the visible institutions went off the rails.

@jesajamatteus @surskitmaxxing It's a fact. The Mormon mental gymnastics is crazy. 'We haven't found the remains of every horse' 😂I am sure the Nephites just had the last ones ever that somehow don't exist in the fossil record 😂 You guys get ridiculed because your beliefs are insane to the avg person

Occam’s Razor vs Mormon Apologetics The Book of Mormon describes how Lamoni, a Lamanite King, owns horses and chariots The text does not explicitly spell out that said horses pulled said chariots Occam’s Razor tells us that the text is describing a civilization with access…

@HowieAlabama @whpub Lies that just get spewed over and over. I won't deny that Francis made things confusing for no reason but no Catholic priests cannot give their unions blessings. They can bless gay people individually but not as a couple. This has been clarified so many times.

First of all. Horses came from America "anciently" in the first instance. There is plenty of evidence of that. Nephi had horses right away. They were trapped there with other animals in the wild. They had actual horses. We just have not found the Lehites yet. You have no way to deny anything yet. New discoveries are found every day. Only 25% of the original anachronisms are left. The Lehites thought they were on an island for a long time, isolated from other people. It's false that they mixed with any existing Americans. The text does not support it. They only found the Mulekites, who had themselves been led out of Jerusalem later. They also brought seeds from the "land of Jerusalem" which flourished in the climate and environment they landed in. They also found ores, gold, silver, copper in the same area. Which is rare. They also had the record of the previous inhabitants of the land, the Jaredites who had horses. Which explained why they found feral horses in the wild. They found goats and wild goats, cows, all kinds of animals. "24 And it came to pass that we did begin to till the earth, and we began to plant seeds; yea, we did put all our seeds into the earth, which we had brought from the land of Jerusalem. And it came to pass that they did grow exceedingly; wherefore, we were blessed in abundance. 25 And it came to pass that we did find upon the land of promise, as we journeyed in the wilderness, that there were beasts in the forests of every kind, both the cow and the ox, and the ass and the horse, and the goat and the wild goat, and all manner of wild animals, which were for the use of men. And we did find all manner of ore, both of gold, and of silver, and of copper.". (1 Nephi 18:24-25) As soon as we find the choice part of the Americas they were at, that was like an island isolating them from the existing populations on the mainland, we'll know where to look. It's gonna be like Baja peninsula. It fits the criteria. Florida and Yukatan don't. There's gold, silver, copper and ore right at the landing site, and the climate supports olive trees and fruitful date palms, which grow there. And many other correlations with the initial scale of the population and travel. And the stories. Also the peninsula has access ultimately to mixing the remnant with the others in America as the book of Mormon narrative ends. Allowing Moroni access to deliver the plates to our modern Cumorah.

@HowieAlabama @whpub Idk why Martin is allowed to parade around but his opinion is inconsequential to anything. I agree and that's why I am very happy the priesthood is becoming much more conservative now. The era of gays becoming priests is well over. But even gays couldn't change Church teaching.
