I love reading OT. Joshua 1:9 hit different this week. “Be strong and of a good courage.” Not “be perfect.” Not “have it all together.” Just - be strong. And know that God goes with you. Whether you’re facing a new chapter, a a new calling, a hard decision, or just the ordinary weight of life, the invitation is the same: courage + companionship with the Lord. I needed to be reminded of this and I’ve been on fire. 😳😅 Drop a 🔥👇 if you’re walking through something and choosing courage anyway because you know the Lord is with you. 🙏🦾🫶

@Kintsugijin Nope - corp executive. Baby is 18 though and about to make us empty nesters. 5 kids, growing grandbabies now.

One of the quiet tensions in Elders Quorum is this: We’re asked to minister to men, many of whom are carrying heavy loads, struggling in their faith, or just barely showing up. At the same time, we’re also trying to hold a certain standard for ourselves, our families, and the quorum. It’s hard not to feel the pull between lowering the bar so people feel accepted, and keeping it high enough that the quorum actually helps men become something more. I don’t think those two things have to be enemies. But I also don’t think pretending the tension doesn’t exist helps anyone. How do you balance lifting people where they are with still inviting them to rise? Cuz I’m not sure I know tbh. And now I’m asked to be a second counselor in the presidency.

Diaz never disappoints in the violence. 🤯 Perry has no defense though. Diaz ten or five years ago would destroy him.

Love them all as fellow children of Heavenly Father first. I have found studying, tying all things to the two great commandments helps. Also highly recommend @Arbinger books. If you love them as equals first, then you can accept them as they are while encouraging them to do better. If the numbers or anything else becomes more important than caring about the individual, it all goes wrong.
