A further damning report has just been released on the Covid Inquiry. You’d think it would be worthy of discussion. But as it highlights more catastrophic Tory failure it’s ignored. #PoliticsLive

Footballing authorities emphasise VAR is here to stay and Uefa will hold a meeting with the Premier League and other major European leagues to get better alignment on VAR. The governing body of European football is understood to seek less of the microscopic intervention that has caused such controversy in the Premier League and Serie A. VAR seems to work better in the Champions League because: teams more focused on playing football (rather than grappling at corners); standard of officiating is inevitably higher as Uefa draws upon elite referees from a range of countries; and Uefa’s lighter-touch stance on technology. Mindful of fans’ frustrations with delays, Uefa would use VAR on corners only if it was immediately identifiable before the restart. Uefa’s use of the Hawkeye semi-automated offside (SAO) system working well. A more advanced, quicker "fuller" version of the Hawkeye SAO is currently being trialled for use by Fifa at the World Cup. Again, mindful of the need to prevent needless delays, the assistant will be notified almost instantly of a clear offside and can flag immediately rather than letting play run on as often happens now and potentially risking collisions and injuries. Uefa is expected to follow the Premier League in trialling a direct-to-consumer streaming service for Champions League matches. Premier League Plus is being launched in Singapore next season which will allow subscribers to watch all 380 games. The presence of five Premier League teams in next season’s Champions League looks all but guaranteed with extra spot via Uefa co-efficients. There has been discussion amongst clubs on the Continent about whether “country protection” rules should be dispensed with earlier – in the league phase – so English clubs could meet and potentially knock each other out. Uefa’s Club Competitions Committee decided against this at a meeting earlier this season.

🚨BOMBSHELL: STARMER & MILIBAND'S NET ZERO FANTASY SHATTERED – ENERGY CEOs REVEAL BILLS WILL STAY SKY-HIGH EVEN IF WHOLESALE POWER COSTS ZERO! 💣 🤯 MUST WATCH‼️ Energy Suppliers Plead With Government To Scrap Green Levies Forcing Bills Through The Roof , Testimony Straight From Parliament Demolishes All Labour Net Zero Claims⚡️💡 In a devastating blow to Keir Starmer and Ed Miliband's net zero dream, Britain's major energy suppliers laid bare the harsh reality in Parliament on 15 October 2025: Labour's green policies are driving household bills relentlessly upward, regardless of what happens to global gas or wholesale prices. Ed Miliband has repeatedly insisted that high energy bills stem purely from volatile global fossil fuel markets. That narrative has now been comprehensively demolished by the very industry executives Labour claims to champion. Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, delivered the killer line that exposes the whole net zero con: "Some of the modelling that we have suggests that you could get to a position by 2030 where if the wholesale price was zero, bills would still be the same as they are today because of the increase in those non-commodity costs." This means astonishingly even if wholesale costs fell to zero, bills would STILL not fall, and could even rise further, due to the explosion in policy-driven charges. Rachel Fletcher, Director of Regulation and Economics at Octopus Energy, piled on the pressure with equally brutal warnings: "If we continue on the path we’re on now, electricity prices are going to be 20% higher in 4 or 5 years time than they are now. And that’s even if wholesale prices halve." "Non-commodity costs are adding about £300 onto a typical bill." "The country as a whole at the moment, is paying over £20 billion a year on their electricity bills for policy costs. The projections are that that is going to increase. That will add another £100 to bills over the next four years." These non-commodity costs, green levies, renewable subsidies, network upgrades for electrification, and constraint payments to turn off excess wind power, are the direct result of the net zero agenda pushed by Miliband and Starmer. Energy bosses are effectively pleading with the government to scrap or reform the green levies that are forcing bills through the roof. This testimony, straight from the suppliers' mouths in a formal parliamentary session, fully demolishes Labour's claims that net zero will deliver cheaper energy for families. The evidence is undeniable: net zero isn't saving money, it's baking in permanently higher bills, even in a dream scenario of free wholesale power. Scrap net zero now!!

🚨 PETROL RATIONING — AND STARMER STILL WON’T ACT The warning is now out in the open. If the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, the UK is weeks away from a fuel crisis — and the government already has emergency plans ready: Petrol rationing Fuel prioritised for emergency services 50mph speed limits to cut consumption Let that sink in. Britain is preparing for shortages, restrictions, and disruption to daily life — not hypothetically, but operationally. And why? Because roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply flows through the Strait of Hormuz — and right now, that artery is under threat. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has made a direct request to allies: Help secure the shipping lanes. Send naval support. Keep global energy moving. And what did Keir Starmer say? He needed to “meet with his team”. Trump’s response was cutting: “You don’t need to meet with a team… you’re the Prime Minister.” This is the reality. While America moves to prevent a global energy crisis, Britain is preparing to ration fuel at home — because its leadership refuses to act decisively abroad. This isn’t caution. It’s paralysis dressed up as process. And the cost of that weakness? Could soon be felt at every petrol station, every supermarket, and every household in Britain.

Ratcliffe is incoherent - all of the oil and gas we produce here in Britain is sold at the global market price. No amount of oil produced here can in that case save us a single penny. Importing fossil fuels does not mean we pay more. Drilling in the north sea will take years to deliver globally priced fossil fuels and Rosebank will cost nearly £3 Bn in tax payer subsidies to it’s Norwegian owners - and….none of the oil will land here in Britain. So what sense is Ratcliffe making here, other than to shareholders in Rosebank and other oil companies. This is another fossil fuel crisis and we can’t solve it or help ourselves at all - by pouring more oil onto it. telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

Well, look at that. @Keir_Starmer has risen above, despite the British media's savage, relentless gutter press attacks on him for no good reason since the GE. That his integrity has broken through says everything about him. He's a powerful man in the best sense of the word.

Starmer leads Farage and Badenoch on who Brits think would be the most capable Prime Minister. He’s up +4 since Jan 2026, whilst Farage is down -2, and Badenoch’s down -1.

Kudos to Mark Carney and Keir Starmer. After alienating all of America's allies and showing himself to be a MADMAN who cannot be trusted, Canada and the UK are moving on without Trump and America. Look for the rest of the democratic free world to follow.

The UK North Sea The Uk government hasn’t issued any new drilling licenses since January 12, 2023. That’s no new licenses for 3 years and 2 months. Not one. When the Labour government took power in July 2024, they implemented a pledge to stop issuing new oil and gas exploration licenses for the North Sea. INEOS who own and operate the Forties Pipeline have said they can no longer make maintenance investments in it, as the government has rendered the industry inoperable. The UK has 280 offshore platforms and 20,000 oil and gas wells. There’s no capital to maintain anything, or reinvest, because the tax is excruciatingly high. This industry is on the brink of collapse, the pipelines are knackered and unmaintained, because of our own policy choices… as the world plunges headlong into a global energy crisis. Truly the most feckless, self-harming policy set in all of Europe, if not the world. I don’t think this is incompetence, nobody is that stupid, it looks more like sabotage. It’s also illegal to complain about the UK government, especially here on the internet. Embarrassing.
