Today the world meets #HappyPatel. This film is EXTRA. Made by background extras. I met Kavi Shastri when we were extras on Love Aaj Kal. We both danced out of focus on either side of Saif. We said if we ever came into focus we would throw complete madness at the screen. The definition of the word ‘extra’, is additional, unaccounted for, or trying too hard. We made it silly, ridiculous, and WENT for it. We found a lighthouse in Aamir Khan who has this beautiful legacy of always backing the underdog. So we did extra. Every additional joke we could find, for an audience often unaccounted for, and a tiny crew and cast that tried VERY hard. I know movie stars are supposed to play promotions cool. Fuck that. We are extras. Extras don’t have to follow those rules. I hope you leave the house, back the underdog, I hope you tell everyone ❤️ V
