you all know morning brew but did you know that a lot of their $70m+ revenue is done through their b2b newsletters? let me explain when you sign up to morning brew, you’re basically signing up to their top-of-funnel newsletter don’t get me wrong, they make most of their money from this newsletter but the cpm they can charge in that newsletter is $20-35… while they can charge an advertiser a $50-150 cpm in their b2b newsletters so what they do is kind of brilliant they get people to sign up to their main newsletter with mass appeal for all business professionals then they redirect people to a survey that asks what they do and where they work if you work in marketing, they offer you to subscribe to ‘marketing brew’ and if you work in retail, they offer you to subscribe to ‘retail brew’ this way, they’re monetizing your one email address in multiple channels every day this takes the LTV on your email address from $5-15… to $15-100 there’s a saying in marketing: ‘the business that can spend the most to acquire a customer wins’ this is how they can go extremely hard on paid growth well played MB
