@Asamoh_ Be good to our COs, majority are very bright and competent. We need them for for PHC Baa. Get the curriculums of BscCO, MBCHB and make an objective analysis. You will realize that the difference is not so much that requires them to take 6 more yrs in school

@Asamoh_ There can be a shorter and better way to transition. Pneumonia management doesn't change whether someone is a CO, MO or a nurse. They can just cover the units they didn't i.e in surgery.

If you want to transit as a medical doctor , register for MBCHB , pass the exams and get one year compulsory internship and then qualify as a doctor. You can’t masquerade as a Bsch- clinical medicine and you want to practice as a doctor. Let’s respect the scope of practice as guided by the regulatory bodies.

@tsiome @MiskellahMD Ajuoga, most Bsc Nurses and Bsc COs who scored weak As and strong A- are more intelligent than most med students who scored Bs(self-sponsored) UON admits 480 and only 150 scored As and the rest are self-sponsored. MBChBs are the most knowledgeable but not all are bright.

Whenever I do my major ward rounds with nurse interns,Doctor interns,Diploma CO interns and Degree CO interns,it pains me see the how competent and good the BSc COIs are.They are just afew steps behind their Doctor colleagues....and to imagine that the healthcare system as presently designed considers them same with their diploma colleagues is just absurd(not that the diploma are poor,their training is just fit for purpose).But we must find a way of allowing the BSC guys to transition to MBchB.Otherwise we stop the course because we are robbing very bright minds off their future.
